Stupid stupid flu virus!

I've always thought his OP is a troll who's taking the piss at the antivaxxers. I still think he is.
Looking at this thread, I wonder which meds/boosters the OP is taking just to take a piss. Apologies if the OP really is struggling with his health though.

So i was all set to get my Booster this week and i've come down with flu :(
Doctor put me in antibiotics and a few other things. I know its not COVID-19 as I got tested, and I get tested for travel as well but I do it adhoc sometimes just to be safe. I was putting off the flu jab as well until this year's edition comes out.
Antibiotics for flu? Either he’s a quack or you’re a hypochondriac.

Symptoms not nearly as bad as COVID-19, but still sucky. And sucks i have to wait longer for my Booster.

Interestingly, the Dr said we can expect an increase in flu/colds now because we're doing more "normal" things and our immune systems are relatively low aginst other viruses even though we're well protected against COVID.

My daily regimen normally consists of 1 x Berocca, 1 x Vitamin C fizzy, 1 x Zinc, 1 x multivitamin and then my Rx meds. Then 2x a week Vitamin D. I also take an anti-inflammatory once a week for just-in-case.
The problem was I got lazy, and for 2 weeks didn't take most of them as I was in and out of the country

and WHAM! Flu got me.

So don't forget to keep your immunity up with good meds, it seems there's a few other nasty little bugs running around.

Typically, it will take the body time to balance the microbiome to healthy, diverse bacteria levels. In fact, research shows that it takes about 6 months to recover from the damage done by antibiotics. And even then, the body might not even be back to its pre-antibiotic state.

Naturally, doctor advise is best not internet forum "experts", but still, don't be afraid to challenge the need for antibiotics. Usually when I have questioned my doctor on it the answer has been something like "fine, but if your condition worsens I am prescribing them". Sometimes though there is a legitimate need to use them and if your doctor insists on it, you listen.

Exactly this, I'm 100% sure he is trolling. No one is that stupid. He is definitely trying to get a reaction out of people.
The irony being the joke is actually on him, he just has not realised it yet.

Yet here you are, giving advise

"Antibiotics treat bacterial infections, but influzena is caused by a virus, so antibiotics aren’t effective treatment for the flu. However, if your doctor suspects that you have a bacterial infection or may develop one, or you have a history of developing bacterial pneumonia when sick, he or she may prescribe an antibiotic."

Oh no i'm not a troll, but I do think antivaxxers should be rounded up an jabbed by force. Good thing we have opposing sides and views then eh? :)

Alright. All I know is that I am a wussie Millennial that is taken man-down by either man-cold, man-flu or man-Rona.
Oh i'm not ashamed to say i get the man-flu BADLY. and the man-Rona. I'm still convinced males feel sickness symptoms more!

No advise was given, I never told him to do anything. Merely made him aware of the consequences of antibiotics and that it is OK to challenge your doctor. So long as you listen to your doctor in the end. In my personal experience, when I challenged my doctor as for the need of antibiotics, she agreed on the basis that I would come back in if my symptoms worsened.

If it’s true that men get sicker with the flu, why?

Some have suggested that early man evolved to require more prolonged rest while sick to conserve energy and avoid predators. In more modern times, the advantage of a longer recovery time is less clear beyond the obvious. When you don’t feel well, it’s nice to be taken care of. Of course, that’s true for women as well.

Yet my wife gives Zero stuffs when I'm sick. lol

Wow that's a lot of pills.

Based on the garbage he puts in his body that piss will be a toxic green colour.
