Yes Suarez was booed, he was probably also a victim in the whole thing. whether you presume innocence on Suarez's part or not, the booing is significantly different.
Like a set of fans booing one player for breaking their players leg and the rivals booing the opposing player because their player got banned, admittedly this example is way to simplified and watered down but merely to illustrate the difference and not compare scenarios.
He admitted to using the word he was accused of, and the panel deemed this word to be a racist term. But everything is still Evra's fault. Evra made a meal of it but Suarez opened the door so to say. Same with the reactions to the game yesterday.
My point is why is it disgraceful for united fans to mock Liverpool based on there own actions? They basically stood up for racism. Booing a player is nothing but booing a player because his made a case and won it is a different story.
So my point was don't call one set of fans disgraceful (it didn't originate from you) and condone another set of fans just because it is the team you support.
Liverpool have brought this image upon themselves with the way they handled the situation. check rival forums across the net. Most of these rivals probably hate united more, but the consensus seems to be in their favour.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions though, so I'm not saying the masses are right. I believe everyone is entitled to their opinions. But the double standards ate appalling.
The songs United fans sang about Hillsborough and Heysel in the last game that was disgusting.
But in my opinion, the mocking of Liverpool with the masks, their actions throughout the case brought this on themselves. That's just my opinion though. And it is genuinely unbiased. I will disagree with fans actions as I did above, but that was a joke, and Liverpool have been a joke in this saga.
They could have done so much different which would have maintained rivals respect for them, that was and maybe should not be their intention but is another story all together.
I have always maintained a great deal of respect for Liverpool, although I like mocking them, but when serious I will have good things to say. My best friend is a Liverpool fan and we agree on lots of things while still having regular banter.
I'm gonna cool of this topic though I'll read your response and leave it at that. To me this whole situation is detracting from the football now and that makes it kinda irritating.
Cheers.
Oh yeah, and Liverpool fans don't bait the United fans about the Munich air disaster? You are definatly not unbiased and using that to make excuses for Suarez's racism. Common, this is about 2 high profile plays and the bottom line is that Evra was willing to shake his hand and Suarez turned it down. Suarez had an opportunity to draw a line under the whole thing. He blew it and embarrassed Dagliesh and LFC. Evra's rejoicing at the end of the match was over the top and even Sir Alex said as much on TV. Dagliesh's response to Suarez??
