Sudden chest pain?

Settle down, settle down. I am still alive people. :rolleyes:

I am making an appointment to see the doctor, the pain is still there. Dull but still there. When I take a deep breath in the pain is just under my shoulder blade in my back.

If I take a really deep breath it is ****ing sore.

Push your stomach out and see if there is any pain

I get the same pain when a spontaneous Pneumothorax hits. :whistle: Here's hoping its not that unless you enjoy the smells and sounds of a hospital ward.

What happens when you poke the area under your shoulder blade hard? Could be some inflammation.
 
Anatomy
The heart, lungs, esophagus and gallbladder are located in the upper chest. The largest artery in the body, the aorta, is also located in this region. Problems with these organs cause pain in the center of the chest.

Heart Attack vs. Indigestion
Heart attack pain varies from patient to patient. Most heart attack and angina patients report a constant, aching pain. Other heart attack patients report a squeezing, bloated pain that also suggests indigestion. Only a doctor can tell you if the pain you are experiencing is caused by a heart attack or by simple indigestion.

Gallbladder
Gallbladder pain is located in the upper-left portion of the chest. The pain may radiate toward your back. Gallbladder pain comes and goes, and usually occurs within hours of a heavy meal.

Aneurysm
A tearing or ripping pain in the chest, especially accompanied by shortness of breath, may indicate an aortic aneurysm. This is potentially fatal and must be treated immediately.

Lungs
Lung pain is a symptom of many diseases. Pneumonia and pleurisy cause pain in the center chest, and make breathing difficult. This pain is usually accompanied by symptoms of cold and flu.

Sounds scary whatever it is.

If I push hard I don't get any pain. Its only when I breath in pretty deep. And it feels pretty deep in my back / lung. Its not on the surface. Its weird.

No chance you can make that appointment for today still? That sounds exactly like a Pneumothorax, which is:

Pneumothorax (plural pneumothoraces) is an abnormal collection of air or gas in the pleural space that separates the lung from the chest wall and may interfere with normal breathing.

In other words, your lung collapses, air rushes out and collects between your lung and chest wall. If its a mild collapse (<5%) they normally just observe and see if it heals on its own. If it's a large collapse (15%+) then they'll look at stabbing you in the chest and sticking a tube in to suck the air and blood out.

I've had 4 of those bloody tubes in and countless smaller collapses, its not fun. Go have it checked out, and hope that its something small.

I did say don't stuff around with chest pain. :)

In my case I have Marfans Syndrome, its a connective tissue disorder. One of the common issues with those that suffer from Marfans is spontaneous lung collapses.

Though there are a few other causes for spontaneous lung collapse. Lung disease (asthma and the like), smoking etc.
