Whats frightening is when they line up a needle as thick as your pinky next to a syringe full of Morphine, then **** gets real.

Worse is if you don't see the morphine, and they stab you in the chest between your ribs just below your armpit without anesthetizing you first. But that's a story for another thread.

Anyway the point is, chest pain is serious business™.

In all likelihood you'll probably go to the doc tomorrow, who will say its a sore muscle and recommends visits to a masseuse. :p

Hectic! They surely can't do that without anesthetizing you.
 
It seems someone might have stabbed you in the back. Any enemies at work? P'd off your wife recently. The person might be left handed as he/her could swing the knife into your left back side. The pain you are feeling is the metal. (Okay, being sarcastic).

Seriously, lessons learned. If you have chest pains, see a doctor.

arghh I have constant chest pains that I now worry when I don't feel anything.

Flared up about two years ago and did the whole ECG and chest Xrays and blood tests for enzymes and whatnot and when nothing was found just learnt to live with it, just take the occasional disprins or anti inflammatory when the pain gets to be a bit much.

Got real bad again the beginning of this year and cholesterol was a tad high and blood pressure was high as well, so went on medication for a while but side effects were blah so ate better and exercised more and stopped the medication.

Probably hernia or something moving around inside - maybe a bit of muscle inflammation, but as you haven't died it probably wasn’t a heart attack.

Hope you feel better, maybe its a case of needing a better diet or maybe you strained some muscle, not all chest pain is gloom and doom, on the other hand maybe you will be dead in a week, who knows.

Seriously happened, along with a shed load of other crap that make me swear never to go to Olivedale hospital ever again.

Hey Grimspoon,
I too suffered from the same type of pain you describe. If it sort of catches you off-guard and makes inhaling really painful leaving you holding your breath for a while or slowly exhaling then it's probably what I suffered from - costochondritis. It's something to do with muscle/tissue/cartilage inflammation along the rib cage or something like that (too lazy to re-Google). Well, that's what the doc said when I visited years ago after first experiencing this problem. Nothing to worry about if this is the case... doc gave me some pills, some ointment and I have never experienced it since.
 
Still alive :)

Doc reckons it is muscle related, but must keep an eye on it. If I get any sort of chest pain I must go straight to the emergency room, do not pass go.
