Suggestions for a new car

I think you should get the Corolla Quest at that price... And if you look for a demo even cheaper.

Based on the old shape of the corolla , I think its a good all rounder with a big boot for those long distance travels.

The price of fuel is factored in to Uber prices. But if you calculate all expenses, depending on your annual kilometrage, you can save money. If you do high miles, probably not.

Why?
I've car car that comes from India and it has not given any trouble whatsoever.
In fact it has been the only car that I've owned that never has been to the workshop other than its scheduled services.
I can assure you that I'm not the exception; the majority of owners have had the same experience.
And there's more: Owners and not the press boys rated the brand so highly that it won Brand of the Year two years in succession.

More about safety issues with the budget cars than the quality, although that has also come into spotlight depending on the manufacturer, being produced in India.

The latest Swift (Indian Version) got 2 stars and the body was rated unstable by Global NCAP

Get a used low mileage Mazda CX3. It comes with fancy motorplan aswell.

It is so depressing spending that kind of cash on a vehicle like a Sandero.

The very recent reliability report on brands might be useful to read. Forget German it would seem..................... The report is on MBB.
 
I support the Tipo and the CX3 options. Just that for the Tipo, do not go back to the dealership once you are done with the service plan.

The Tipo is a pretty good vehicle, I think journalists have been comparing it to cars like the Focus and Golf segment because of its size when in fact it actually belongs in the Polo and Fiesta segment based on its price and features.
 
I agreed, just checked the prices on Autotrader, you can get a decent one below R200k with some changes too. But do not get the Pop spec, rather go for the Easy spec, if you can.

I got a call from one of the sales people at worcester vw, they actually have a highline tsi polo for just over R200k. I'll take that over any of the new choices at R2ook any day. Second hand gives you better options.
 
Why not get a 1.0 Fiesta Ecoboost? Pretty decent cars with good looks, power and fuel economy, just make sure it's under Warranty in case something goes wrong.

"But it’s important to note the Indian version tested here does without ABS, a vital safety feature that is standard across the SA line-up (along with EBD and BA). "

Yes, but ABS is not going to help with the unstable body structure.
