It's a shame we seem to need names for different races in the first place, why not just "white" or "black"?.
I have noticed if I tell someone e.g. "I saw some guys beat up another guy in the parking lot yesterday, then (white) people always then need to know if the perps and the victim were black or white. If I say "black", then they sort of shrug "oh well" and are only interested if the victim was white.
Just sayin'. Us white people aren't exactly squeaky clean on the covert and overt racist front either.
I am with Vinette on this one. She conducts herself like a decent person at least. The racist slurs from this Sunette character are appalling.

Yes, that's why I said there are none against white people specifically but white people have also subject to systematic abuse and exploitation - by other groups of white people. The Irish where also enslaved and exploited by the English which is why words like Paddy can be considered derogatory in Ireland. It was used for hundreds of years by English oppressors towards the Irish - ie, it was meant to be derogatory and 'put them in their place', it was a show of contempt.
Let's not forget the millions of white Europeans who were kidnapped and sold into slavery by Arabs in the middle ages. They were the original k***s.Yes, that's why I said there are none against white people specifically but white people have also subject to systematic abuse and exploitation - by other groups of white people. I get a little more racist looking at that pic I have top admit.![]()
One race actually has to have authority and power over the other for the word to truly become something derogatory in meaning, otherwise it's just a word. People didn't just wake up one day and decide the word k.....r is derogatory, it became that way in meaning because of how it was used for hundreds of years by white oppressors towards blacks - ie, it was meant to be derogatory and 'put them in their place', it was a show of contempt. There are no real racial slurs against white people specifically because they haven't been systemically abused and exploited by other races for hundreds of years...
If someone calls me whitey or honky or whatever except boer that's ok. Probably because I'm not Afrikaans nor am I a farmer.

I think you mean in a South African context.
My people were slaves long before your people were slaves.
Kafir was used to describe whites before it was used to describe blacks.

She's a long way from being blameless here if you ask me/snip

She as much as admits that one race group in our country is being discriminated against ....and that she is glad of itVinette said:“Yes, I do do struggle in Afrikaans, it’s an adopted tongue. So please allow me to insult you in my mother tongue. You speak so eloquently about genocide not necessarily being the mass killing of a nation. The possible slow, planned obliteration of said nation on all fronts: socially, politically, economically etc. Well, how does it feel Sunette Bridges to be wearing the shoe that my people wore for so long? How does it feel to be the downtrodden minority? How does it feel to be in fear for your life on a daily basis? How does it feel to be a second class citizen in the land of your birth? The only difference here is that you will never see freedom as you knew it again. You have made it impossible for yourself and those like you. Racists. Face the fact, “baasskap” has disappeared never to be re-emerge again. You are an opportunist and a fearmonger and you exploit the undereducated Afrikaner. You and Steve Hofmeyr. Your little boeremag enclave is exactly that…little. But I will be watching you with keen interest because I believe that you are a parasite with an agenda.”
but... if a German walked up to you and called you a Jew, in that context you might feel slightly different.
Yup. South Africans often think they're the centre of the world and that history starts here.
well it is called "apartheid" and not "seperateism"![]()
