Hiya guys,

Just noticed with the change of seasons coming in...a beam of sunlight is starting to move across my Sony 40" HD LCD. Last year in Winter...this beam of sunlight actually went completely across our old CRT TV...but it wasnt an issue as it was in a TV cabinet. My LCD is not in a TV cabinet as its too big...but was wondering...could this direct beam of sunlight on the LCD cause problems / damage the LCD? Its literally just started moving onto a small bottom piece of the LCD at the moment...wanted to check before it moves onto the TV.

Maybe I should put a towel over the LCD during the day?

Some LCD's are designed to be backlit by sunlight, (not the dishwashing liquid), so I doubt it would cause a problem.

For the most part you have nothing to worry about but if you have an "over glossy" LCD TV like the Samsung LN46A650 you're probably going to be prone to very annoying glare issues.
