SuperSport-Mweb streaming conspiracy?

It was crap when I used it a few years ago. So no surprise.

Then why do you need to stream it if you have DSTV?

So can the service then? If you have DSTv then there's no need for a stream? Is that what you're implying?

And I've now fielded this question a hundred times so excuse my abruptness now when I say that it's of no concern to you.

I pay for dstv. I rely heavily on the streaming. In fact it's 50% of the reason I pay for dstv. I deserve a working service...

The money you pay for DSTV has nothing to do with SS streaming, if streaming SS is bad you cant say "well i pay R700 for this service". That service is DSTV alone IE Satellite broadcast...not internet streaming.

Oh go troll elsewhere for fsck sakes. Streaming is a premium service reserved for premium subscribers only. It is a part of the subscription.

Christ, why am I even having do explain this to you? If you have nothing of value to add, kindly bugger off...

Finally an article on this issue! I thought I was the only one having this issue, I have been fighting with Supersport for months regarding the low quality of the streaming. They kept telling me to try stupid things which obviously wouldn't work. I finally gathered all evidence that points to this being a Supersport issue and they have not replied to that mail. I have sent multiple follow up emails and as of today I have not had a reply in a month.

Earlier this year I was able to stream on a 4mb account without an issue. A few months ago it all went downhill. I went as far as to upgrade my account to 10mb. I am with Openweb which is IS, to rule this out I used my FNB account and I tried Afrihost. All had the same issues even though I could stream HD YouTube without a hitch.

It is the most infuriating thing I have dealt with in a while. Supersport doesn't care about their customers, there is no one to escalate to and they own the monopoly on sport. I truly hope MyBB launches a full scale investigation to get to the bottom of this and prove once and for all this is something Supersport needs to sort out.

Looks like my ignorance got the better of me. :o

So..... Either they willfully hamstring the service on their streaming, or they just can't cope.

Either way, they are looking very bad as they are the complete monopoly and control the local distribution. If their future is one where you can only "stream" content through their devices (decoder) and not the general internet, then that is in direct opposite to the rest of the world.

As I constantly say, Naspers is working very hard to utterly and completely control how you watch and listen to content here in SA. The tie-ins they have with government is astounding and I wait for the day that they fully take on the role as national broadcaster and every other competitive service is made illegal or redundant.

In the shadow of inept and ignorant governance, nefarious opportunity thrives.

No conspiracy, Supersport like Mweb have greatly reduced their capacity. So any reasonably popular stream will buffer.

For sure they willfully restrict the quality of their online streaming, it's not they don't care. Koos Bekkers of Naspers wants to be the next Carlos Slim, the CEO of America Movil. This company totally dominates the Mexican telecoms market for decades, and has considerable interests in telecoms on other continents. Mexican telecoms rates are some of the highest in the world. Carlos Slim has again this year overtaken Bill Gates as the worlds richest person, acc to Forbes. Worth more than $ 60 Billion on his personal account.

They sell mobile devices for viewing, why would they make alternate streaming flawless?

PS. I'm in no way condoning this... just saying.

Total BS.

I'm on 4Mb Mweb uncapped and the live streaming is a joke. My lag is so bad the game or race is often over yet my live stream still has 15 minutes of play left.

I'm getting device binding failed error code 3322

This is the first time I've tried to view supersport since upgrading to Win 8.1

Any idea as to cause?

/Feedback

The above problem occured when I used Chrome. Switching to ie (11) it works without lags. I notice that ie spent a while downloading a DRM module prior to stream starting.

Another user is also online.

I'm using Afrihost uncapped 1Mbps from Cape Town.

I wanted to watch the arsenal game on streaming this weekend through Supersport but after numerous attempts I had to turn to a different stream in stead as I could not connect to the game, this was through an perfectly working Afrihost connection. In fact I could not even get onto Supersport.com at one stage. This happned again on Sunday !
