Ok, so i had to start a new thread for this cos i'm not the only one who sees what a joke the supersport presenters are.
For the Euros we've got these clowns:
Robert "this particular" Marawa is the worst.
Kamza aka "talk-fast-so-it-disguises-that-i'm-not-saying-anything-meaningful" kills me.
And then there's the recently acquired Carol Manana (...Tshabalala)! God help us all!!!!
And dishonorable mentions to Bartlett, Arendse, and Amokachi.

F1 is just as bad: Sasha / Gary / Vic ... OMW!!!
There was that outage in the commentary for the beginning of the Canadian GP and I almost had to listen to them commentate!!! Luckily the HD channel at least had the audio feed coming in from the track without any commentary.
I'm not a rugby fan, but judging from the "most annoying commentator" thread it looks like those guys are on par with these.
How can we have 50m people in our land but no decent sports analysts???
Well, ok... i think Gary Bailey is good, and the one time they had Steve Komphela as a guest (some years ago, for AFCON I think) was quite interesting (mostly cos he's the undisputed king of one-liners! I love that guy!).

Where do they get these people from??!!

The guests invited for these Euros are just as bad. John Barnes is the exception of course.
Sammy Kuffour and Rudd Krol, I can barely understand what they are saying.

SuperSport knows what they are doing, I think our comments here count 1%

The presenters dont bother me really as I dont watch them. Pretty simple.. for example F1.. I just watch from when they hand over to the BBC commentators. It really is quite simple to change the channel and not watch the presenters.. although a nuisance yes. With the Canadian GP incident I streamed Sky instead so I had Brundle  Think I might just do that again this weekend and watch the build up too.

I'm just raising awareness... changing the channel won't change the panel (...hey it rhymes!:) )
Remember, we're paying customers, subscribed to an expensive, exclusive service (only 7% of people in SA have DStv). If enough of us don't like something, I have to believe that MultiChoice will at least feel some pressure to change it. This isn't the government... it's a business.

Who would you suggest do the commentary for the Euro's ?

Jeebus, but that woman drives me nuts. And now she's started saying 'this particular' as well just to drive me over the top.

Really, I use the mute button now when I'm not staring at them in horror like I'm observing a car crash.

I don't have a suggestion. I'm just saying the people they have are not good enough.
Take cricket... I could easily tell you that Kepler is useless after hearing him all these years, but I never would've been able to tell you that Polly was brilliant. Now that I've been exposed to him, I can make a (personal) assessment.

I think all former SABC sports presenters have been bitten by the "this particular" bug.

since last year i avoid pre and post and middle match comments. idiots. they just irritate me.

Yep. I just change to the channel just before the game starts.

The only person worth listening to is John Barnes, the rest are bunch of morons. Most of the time they just state the painfully obvious, even to people who have a very basic understanding of the game. "The team that scores more goals will probably go onto win this match" -> stupid stuff like that.

You expecting too much from these guys - rather just watch to see their predictions etc and make your own mind about the game - or read the papers for expert opinions.

I see the general feeling is that of being resigned to switching channels... and yes, it's one solution, but the thing is: we pay a lot for this stuff... Robert ThisParticlar Marawa is taking home a fat paycheck made up of my subscription fee to sit there and say "this particular" 50 times an hour. Kamza probably goes home thinking he's so cool and so good at his job just cos he can rattle off 200 words per minute and wear a nice suit.
Cmon... when did we become so passive? I'm making a stand againt this cr@p (...even though it's not as important as world peace, or East African famine).

How? By starting a thread?

I suppose if you wanted to be credible you would have to be able to recommend better presenters.

And how would he do that? Set up a series of interviews at his house? Surely it's up to Supersport to know how their presenters are received. They've got eyes and ears ffs. But have they got management? I don't know, but it appears not. How can you not hear the same guy saying 'that particular' every few minutes and not know it's going to be annoying after a while?

And that woman. Why is she laughing all the time when she speaks? Maybe she can't believe she's getting away with it and is actually drawing a salary every month.

How? By starting a thread?
Baby steps. The thread was an experiment to gauge the level of consensus among the general myBB-reading public. The next step would be to formalise my protest to MultiChoice. But for that to make a real impact it would erquire many people all complaining. That was the secondary objective of the thread... galvanise people to also take the 5 mins to complain to MultiChoice. But, like i said, baby steps.

Gonna have to disagree there... See one of my previous post regarding Kepler Wessels and Shaun Pollock.
