And who is to say Supersport have not conducted the interviews, and that what we have is the best they could find?

If better people don't apply we cant blame Supersport. If better people are getting paid more elsewhere, why dont we watch those channels and watch their commentary?

Do exactly the same. I love Sasha on the radio, but for the F1 it seems pretty stale. They never really seem to expand on their current format. It's just plain boring chitchat, making obvious statements/assumptions, none of the flare that F1 carries. Sash at least does an okay job at taking the lead role, but Gary & Vic, snore..........
 
A lot of ex-sportsmen also seem to get very comfy jobs. Paul Adams and Shafiek Abrahams comes to mind. Hopeless but get lekker jobs. Also, Vincent Barnes.

Lol. If's and buts. The fact remains they have some shockers covering the football and the feeling is widespread amongst everyone I know. Seems like here as well.

They suck big juicy hairy salty balls my friend. There is no denying it.

And to say SS aren't getting good people is laughable. Is it not more likely they don't care or even know what to do because they have a monopoly and the options for us are extremely limited?

But thankfully SS has the English commentators on for the football including the Sky team for the EPL, and there are no bad rugby guys apart from the Bros, who only gets the small games such as the Vodacom Cup anyway. Even Ashwin Williams is watchable in an odd kind of way and the other smiley Derek barsteward doesn't get a lot of air time.
 
The Euro football presenters are lame, especially the anchor (or whatever he is called), I was wondering how he got the job, he should be placed on SABC 1 or something.

I always stream the Sky broadcast. Their commentators are just so much better than BBC, their analysis beats Supersport hands down, they often have very interesting guests that they chat to and they are actually on the grid during the build-up grabbing people left and right to chat to. Actually getting interviews and opinions from people like Adrian Newy is much more valuable and entertaining than the input of Sasha Martiningo.

And that illustrates my point better than I could have:
Why doesn't DStv just find the best pre-race show out there, and screen it. Yes, it will cost them, but we're already paying for this premium exclusive service... We should be demanding the best-available content. In your case you've probably got uncapped internet... for someone like me, that's an additional cost I shoudn't have to pay cos i'm already paying for "premium" coverage of F1, just not getting it.

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks this of the supersport presenters. Their team for the Euro's has been shocking...most of the panel can't even speak English.

Barnes, Bailey and Paine are the best. Actually know football and can explain their point of views well...where the others repeat the same things over and over.

Don't get me started on the hosts Robert and Thomas - The woman host is better than them.

Biggest irritation - Sami can't even say penalty! hahaha!
 
Barnes is the best. Paine is decent. Used to like Eddie Lewis. Dont really like Bailey. "Ronaldo is now better than Messi" after scoring two goals in one game at the Euros.

Arendse and Bartlett are clueless.


but none of them are as bad as the etv / sabc commentators. now thats bad...

I've found a neat trick to avoid the 3 idiots, at least for qualifying. If its being shown in Maximo (SS8), watch it on there and switch the audio channel. In between the sessions, they jump to the BBC team and you don't have to endure the local 'experts'. It makes a massive difference. Gary Anderson is an actual F1 Guru, not Sasha!
 
I don't watch studio discussions anyway. I'd rather participate in a discussion with fellow fans, like here on MyBB.

Commentators on the other hand are a different issue. We have no choice but to listen to them, so quality does count there.
 
I hate the commentator who commentates euro on is. He doesn't know the difference between the upright and post and it's annoying listening to one commentator
