Suzuki experience?

I got the Grand Vitara Hybrid AllGrip 6spd Auto. Yes I knew it would be low on power (very low). Coming from 150kW to 70 odd is a massive dip. But its a great little car and the deal was sweet. Getting used to dropping to 4th to go up a little hill

Surely it's not 70kW with hybrid and that only refers to the petrol part of it?

Atleast you can drop to 4th..... some of the okes brainwashed with the 4spd autos.. "its not that bad", "its quiet on the highway"..... it is a joke that's what it is

Took a Fronx to Harties and Dinokeng reserve from the East Rand past two weekends.

5.6L/100 in the auto. Enough power even with the aircon on at 38c yesterday. Engine dead quiet at 120 in the auto. Hugs the road on Michelin Pilot Sport tyres.

Cry more, Suzuki haters.
LOL Michelin Pilot Sports on a fronx. WHY?

LOL Michelin Pilot Sports on a fronx. WHY?

Wider contact patch with more grip which helps on a car not much more than 1000kg. Better braking. Safer in the wet.

But this forum is so full of trolls I wonder why I even bother with explanations.

Maybe I should reply with “LOL it’s gay to think so much about another man’s rubber”

So did a bit of highway driving With the Starlet yesterday and this morning, Sits well at 100km/h but the steering seems heavy and needs adjustments every few seconds, anything above 110km/h gets a bit sketchy, car wobbles and doesnt feel confident anymore and everything around gets loud.

Steering is heavy at highspeeds and low speeds, my arms actually get tired after 10 minutes.

Power on the highway is lacking, but no surprises there, There is a certain hill on the N1 where I like to put my foot down and my 1L Kween mobile would shoot forward, tried doing the same thing in the STarlet on that hill and got nothing, dropped a gear and the engine just made a loud noise but without propelling me forward, I actually burst out laughing when this happened.

Rattles, Now this car just seems to have all sorts of rattles coming from different places, when one rattle stops another starts in a different place.

Comfort - Suspension is nice and takes bumps well, I really like that, but for some reason the seating position is not comfortable, they seam to have made the seat tall to mimic being in an SUV, But the Starlet is a hatchback so not sure why they would do that. No place to rest your right elbow either while driving, the window seal area is too high so cant rest your elbow there. So you are stuck with stretching your arms while holding the steering wheel and I dont see how that would be comfotable especially on long trips.

The centre console/glove box is really tiny, But the cars boot is huge, and nice and deep. Radio is crap, speakers are crap, infotainment system just looks like an aftermarket one from temu.

For now I still stand with my initial opinion, but lets see if things change by the end of the week.

You do know that the best 4x4 by far is a rental?
Take it off road and let us know how she handles

You still need to try the Kia Rio, that is an equally horrific POS. I was swearing at the thing all the way from ORT to Nelspruit and back.

That is kinda unfair considering you are spoilt with beautiful tarmac here in the Western Cape

Years/yonks ago I made a thread about the "Fastest Car in the World", a rental!

Kia in their low spec models are truly crap in most cases I agree.

Doesn't make the whole car crap, just means you absolutely must buy the top tier model with the higher spec and engine.

I've had a Hyundai Gi10 as a rental before, that wasn't nearly as bad as the Rio. I'd have expected it to be the other way around.
