Sweet gadgets

Even die-hard PC fans who use a Mac for longer than ten minutes swear by them. So perhaps there is something in the fact that all cool people on TV use a MacBook for their computing requirements.

LOL. I certainly don't swear by them at all and I've used them for much longer than 10 mins...

Que inevitable MAC vs PC debate... :p

MAC is the street smack of the uber wannabe elites :)

Jokes aside, MAC's are cool (and worthy) of therir street cred and what they can do that a PC can't!

Do? like what:confused:
MAC and PC can do the same thing, its all up to software not OS

Clearly this author is a total Mac fanboi.

My computer is a tool. not a fashion statement.

Clearly this naive "journalist" has never heard of paid product placement. If one were to believe everything one sees on TV, then people would be buying Macbooks because they can be used to hack into Alien motherships to give them viruses (a la Independence Day). Thank you, but let's keep the brand-dependent coolness to mall-rat teenage girls and attention-starved "hipsters" who use an inferior OS and hardware and have to compensate by turning their bizarre obsession into a fashion statement.

Whats...that?? Sorry, I can't hear you over my iPod..

Mac fanboy///

Oh, look, mom, marketing... :P

HTC suck. And I say after going to the Leaf offices on Saturday with my wife's 9-day old HTC TouchDual on which the antenna had already died. I wasn't the only one with dead or unconfigurable phones. No timeline on repairs either. The one client had been waiting for 3 months for a repair on an HTC he had for just a couple of weeks. :P

Yes, sure, fine, it is loaded with a ton of goodies and 400MHz of CPU power. However, you can only set it up if you have hobbit sized fingers. And don't get me started on their idea of a "qwerty" keyboard. "qwerky" might be more appropriate.

It is a cool phone to own... if you are a poser who won't be using the thing. :P Unfortunately, my wife decided on it as she needs it for business and that's just no going to work.

Cool isn't always functional. :P Sometimes cool looking stuff lives up to the dumb blonde cliche... all pretty on the outside, but they ain't nothing going on on the inside. :P Uhmm... to all the pretty blondes I know, I wasn't talking about you gals. :D Well, maybe one of you.

Used a Mac for more than 10 minutes and still not a fan, the macbook pro fans sound like a boeing taking off, and non of them can survive spilling even a drop of water.

I got hold of the 'oh so protected' apple service manual suggesting that removing the screen needs a stack of phonebooks and that there are screws in the laptop just-for-show!

The insides of a macbook look very second rate, comparing to a lenovo thinkpad, but then again, their service manual is freely available and the inside actually looks they did some decent engineering... ie sata cables routed to the other side of the mobo and the bluetooth attached to the dvd drive or screws that need to be taken out at an angle because no one thaught of mounting them properly...

Still... it's the prettiest laptop out there and the UI is fluid and once again good looking, don't know if that makes up for the lacks of apps and 0 in term of network admin support though.

What?

Only the first paragraph of the article is about Apple/Mac... a supremely misleading heading!

Oh good grief how biased. This was a pretty pointless read that had no balance. Using substantiations such as "all cool people on TV use Macs" really doesn't help the article's case either.

The simple fact is you pay for the operating system. The hardware is exactly the same and unless you feel the need to pay more for a pretty laptop then you buy an Apple for OSX.

Vista is useless compared to OSX and Win XP is another story all together. Ironically the only operating system I've seen close to OSX is Ubuntu 8.04.
