Switch 2 thread

I'm already playing 2. Probably paid 1/2 on Steam of what Nintendo is going to charge. I see Hades 1 on Nintendo is like 4 times more than what I paid for it.

You are playing the EA version, not the full release. At launch it will be the same price on all platforms with the caveat that you get it cheaper on Steam because of regional pricing.

I don't mind paying 80 dollars (or regional equivalent) for games like BotW or TotK. With well over 250 hours worth of entertainment i is worth the money still.

But some Luigi game, or Kirby for example, that is 20/30 hours max? Not a chance

Wow man, even Sony's tech demo Astro Bot came bundled free with a PS5

Switch 2 Launch Title Comes With a Big Catch

Nintendo Switch 2 launch title Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is a paid digital-only release. Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour was one of the first games shown off for the Switch 2 during the latest Nintendo Direct presentation. The game essentially functions as a tech demo that shows off various Switch 2 features. Considering this, many likely assumed that it would be a pack-in title for the new console.

Video game consoles have a long history of pack-in titles, with classic examples like Wii Sports on the original Wii and, more recently, Astro's Playroom for the PS5. The original Nintendo Switch did not have a proper pack-in title of its own, though many thought that the mini-game compilation 1-2-Switch would have made sense as one. Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour seems like an even bigger no-brainer as a pack-in title, but it will instead be a paid release.

That 4 player screen online co op looked a little laggy on the screen. I’d doubt I’d use that feature as it would take the concentration away from the main screen.

I suspect it will be the same as Switch 2 upgrades for old games, Free for Online + Extra users.

Its like Nintendo is desperate to pump out em subscription numbers.

And Astrobot was an actual game....this thing seems more like an infomercial.

I actually thought it was pretty good that it was. laggy because it gave a sense of reality.

Most would have put some fake super 4K 120fps perfect stream in there to make it look extra good.

Could also be they are forcibly keeping the frame rate super low intentionally for bandwidth and gameplay reasons.

One thing I'm really liking is the Game Sharing thing which makes a hell of a lot of sense in many households which will likely upgrade from a Switch 1 to a Switch 2 and now can basically do multiplayer and such across two systems locally without spending any more money.

Combined with the Virtual Card thing this actually makes the paid for upgrades seem even more bizarre, unless the one is basically offsetting the other.
