Switch 2 thread

Nothing Burger.

Edit: The cool part is that you can now resell the game cause the code is on the card.

This seems different from a digital code that gets tied to your Nintendo account though.

This seems like it would be stand-alone and simply uses the internet as a means of storage...effectively meaning you could sell them again and use them on other accounts?

Still no indication of the local pricing?

Nothing yet.

$350 Switch 1 Oled = R9500 msrp = R27.16/$
Same ratio for $450 = My guess is +-R12199~R12499

Controllers at a different rate of R24.27/$
R2199~R2299 Joycons, R1999~R2199 Pro controller, R1299~R1499 for 256Gb Sandisk Express card

Who is the distributor for Nintendo in South Africa?

Its a lovely device that's very pricey but i'm itching to play Mario Cart.

And then you have to start wondering what comes in the box.

Switch 1 you got the slides with the arm bands included with the controllers, but that now seems more like an optional extra.

Same goes with the combined controller thing whatever you call it.

That's not the distributor though. That's just the consumer frontend. Nintendo South Africa doesn't exist, just like Playstation South Africa doesn't exist.

Also the same bullshit exists with Nintendo as does with iStore with extremely anti-competitive practices where they compete vertically inside their own retail channels against their own customers (Retailers) through their own shops which should be illegal.

Did not know, as the physical orders from that site and documentation all said Nintendo South Africa.

I know PlayStation comes from Koodoo as it say that on the boxes you get. Nintendo just Say Nintendo SA not Core.

Yeah Koodoo is similar in that it belongs to Gamefinity which is the distributor that is still Ster Kinekor for all intents and purposes just structured so that one can take the fall without hurting the other.

There is no Playstation South Africa, just like there is no Apple South Africa (well there is but it's got nothing to do with distribution) and same with Nintendo SA. They all pretty much hand it over to the distributor to do with as they please.

If you have a refund on PSN in SA it goes to some absolutely useless shitty arm of Gamefinity to handle. Same way repairs and warranties are handled by Partserv.

Same way Naspers "unbundled" Multichoice from the main business entity so they can sink that ship without hurting the rest.

One thing we can say for Xbox, is while they do have Prima Games as their hardware distributor they are actually a very real entity locally controlled and owned by Microsoft themselves. Which is also why you don't see much of the other fancy Microsoft hardware locally.
