Sybaritic repairs

Phoned them again today (just to update this thread). My Machine is still at the supplier.

Do they actually physically fix the item or do they just replace faulty ones? It has been 16 days now since I handed in my PC. I don't think I have ever been so annoyed with a company in my entire life. Is there a Sybaritic member on myBB? I would like for him to read this and maybe wake up in the process.

I responded nicely though, kept my cool (I think). "The only PC I have is with you at the moment and it has been 16 days. This is unacceptable. Please contact them and find out whats happening".

Waiting for the response now. Should I go to Hello Peter? Or am I being a bit difficult?

A while back I got a microatx form factor PC from them - some HP thing the model doesn't matter. It was DOA and took a month to resolution. In that time, I made another plan and used the value to acquire other goods. Lesson learnt.

But what pisses me off no end is that the CPA is a law, not a contract you enter into if you feel like it. Even some matrix stores now have signs up that no refunds are possible and store credit and and and...

I must actually find one and post the wording - I am sure most of these okes are operating outside of the law.

I stopped using them. They supplied me a faulty wireless switch (not all ports working) all emails were ignored about getting this fixed / exchanged. Wrote it off. I still use it - less 1 port.

Agree with everyone else... Their after sales service really sucks. Bought from them once and GPU was doing funny things. Emailed them and their weren't really interested in helping at all. Luckily problem went away naturally.

As to whether they replace or repair the item depends on the supplier. In most of the cases that I have seen for a while they follow the cheapest initial route, namely updating the firmware. The item is then returned to you to test if it is now working (normally not). If it is not working then you return it again for further work.

16 days wait is not excessive.

Most places do not follow the CPA - customers are not going to pursue this aggressively due to the hassle and expense involved in achieving a result.

When I contacted them before I asked for the suppliers number but was told that they weren't allowed to give out such information (yeah sure). This is what I found on their website (and I've posted it before).

If you find that your product is defective AFTER six (6) months of receiving the product and within the manufacturer warranty, Sybaritic has no legal obligation to assist you - it will be your responsiblity to contact the manufacturer directly in accordance with their specific warranty procedures

So I will phone them again later if they have not reported back to me and will personally phone the manufacturer and find out whats happening.

And that is copied directly from their website..."responsiblity"...lol

Luckily they are not far from me and I have run out of patience.

You'll probably find the thing hasn't even been sent to the supplier, thats why they wont give you the number - pretty much the lies they gave me.

Funny thing is, I could see the lies as they forwarded the trailing email with the details, and the suppliers details - who I contacted directly.

(they also said the supplier was refusing to replace/repair the item - and it took so long because they went out of their way to get it replaced. They hadn't realised I'd spoken to the supplier, and already knew the truth)

I had a gpu issue which they supposedly couldnt replicate. Countless emails and calls later i gave up and cut my losses after reading what other people went through. Same as what is being described here.

Do you perhaps have the name and number of the supplier?

They have my whole machine :(.

The funny thing is (and I'm repeating things I already said at the opening of this thread). When I phoned the the first time, they told me that they haven't sent my PC to the suppliers yet. I told them off and got an email later that day with the progress report, "Order Status: Warranty: Received at Sybaritic". I received an email again yesterday saying..."Order Status: Booked In, Comments: Warranty Notification: Your item has been booked in with our supplier. We will continue to check on the progress and keep you informed".

They have already told me this week that my GPU has been sent to Asus from the supplier...so it's weird that I get emailed a status report like that.

School fees? I don't think so dude. I will keep this thread updated and if it was up to me, I would shut that company down. I even sent him a message on facebook. Doubt he will reply. They have taken advantage of a lot of customers and enough is enough.

Well we can only hope. I rely on word of mouth...and I have a long memory.

When it comes to a business transaction, there is no forgive and forget.

yes keep us updated this might influence future shopping with them.

You want to know about even worse service, bought a laptop from a big online store got it DOA sent it back they resent another it got lost via their courier they force me to use and pay for (DOA I had to pay shipping because I live in a "Remote" place.

now they claim it is not their problem, I should file a claim with the courier company. Phoned the courier company and they said only the sender can file a claim and the shop refuses to do so.

jokes on them got a refund via my CC they told me i stole from them. :D I would name them but I want to see if the morons will actually take this further...

So, I took my PC in to Matrix Warehouse Saturday. Within an hour I had a new PSU in and my PC was working fine. So I was right in telling Sybaritic when I first took in my PC that my PSU might be faulty and they should test that first.

I've emailed them and posted on their forums that I would be happy if they refunded my GPU and PSU and we can call this whole ordeal quits. If they don't...I will go to the papers. Lets see what happens.
