Takealot closing down Pickup points?

Almost always use the pickup point in Bryanston now. I've never had to wait, possibly because the local delivery guys use a different entrance.

Packages are always available 1-2 days prior to the original 'estimated' delivery day. Really is such a pleasure.

Wouldn't mind if takealot also starts using pargo. There are 3 or 4 pargo points in my area that I usually use for loot or raru deliveries.

alberton had monstrous queues over Christmas, out the door and around the block.

and in a very dodgy area,

what I cant understand is why not, set up lockers at Engen ect..
would be a lot easier than delivery to a pickup point that is often just one dude on his own.
The same here in Faerie Glen. That's why I don't understand that they are closing it down - OK if the centre is being renovated, but find another spot for it.

Well they still need to pay rent for the building.
Money could be made from impulse purchases under R450 (if you these pickup points were put in a convenient location)
Also why are you a different person each day?

The other avatar was making @Pineapple Smurf horny.

Personally I prefer the previous avatar, might switch back

I walked past the Takealot pickup point in Wonderboom Junction over December.

The queue was easily 250 people.

Made me wonder how on earth that is better than just going to a store to purchase an item, or better yet having the item delivered to your door...
Saving of r35... I mean really

I have never collected from Takelot  it's always been a delivery. But there is no pick up point anywhere close to my home/work address.

This is a pain! I used to use the one at Waterkloof all the time. Now the closest ones are in Centurion and Pretoria West.

I may as well start shopping more at other online shops agian. This was a very convenient way for me to shop online.

Loot.co.za offers Pargo pickup and they have one in the same center in Waterkloof.
Loot... Haha.

Yep mine also closed.

Seems only two in centurion and one in Pretoria West option.

It arrives quicker, and be it here or at other pick up points, never had more than 2 people ahead of me.

Probably why they close it. Doesn't make sense to employ staff full time for 2 people.
At time of pickup. Normally you see people leave or arrive. But yes, doubt it justifies staff and storage etc unless they deliver from there as well.

Pity I liked option as with delivery you have to consider when they will arrive.

If they arrive and if they don't just don't dump the schit at security.

The 2 closest pickup points I've used in Cape Town before are both in very dodgy areas. Won't use them again, and working from home permanently means delivery is a far saner option.

Pickup points is quite expensive. Company a while back looked at investing in the model, the ROI on electronic lockers etc is ridiculously long or low. Only makes sense for a very high turnover point.

I spoke with some of the staff at the Waterkloof branch last week. They said that neither they nor their managers were informed of the branch closing. They said that they heard from the customers (like me) that the branch is closing...

What BS is this?? My pickup point is my front door. Otherwise why buy from Takealot in the first place?

Otherwise me picking it up after work or on a Saturday, at my convenience, is better.
