I read that some time ago. I have since removed my solarman dongle. Using my solar-assistant exclusively.
Also VLANS FTW, I've segregated my network nicely so limited devices on the IoT network have internet access (and to the rest of the network).

Ditto. Have the sunsynk logger which is still connected , but everything segregated and restricted where possible.
 
My temps for yesterday and today. Inverter and batteries are in a cupboard in the kitchen. Was only moved there after our renovations earlier this year so interested to see how it holds up over the summer months.

So we have an area outage now nearly 12 hours , and with rain, battery only managed to get to 75% with solar.

Have turned everything off that I can, but inevitably, the battery is gonna get to 20% and the sunsynk is gonna start beeping non stop.

Is there a way to stop the beeping ?

And considering I got a Hubble I guess I can take the battery down to 10 %? I assume this will be fine?

you can take it down to 5% even - you can also turn off the beeping in the menu > basic > display > beeper on/off

That's why a genny is a good thing to have. @ferris is selling a good one in the classifieds...

Sadly, can't afford a gennie cos I need to redo my frikking patio roof and the builder who had came to remediate his f up has now disappeared since it still leaking

I deserve that one I guess - wanting to help someone instead of going to a professional company. He was good for all the other work done over the last few years.

At least no beeping tonight.

Managed to get base load to 250w and using the portable LED lights for now. Hopefully Eskom fixes the issue before the batt fully goes

What's your battery % sitting at now? Hope.it gets resolved ASAP mate
 
40% .. it will probably be finished by 3am. Hoping by then Eskom solves the problem.
 
Did you survive
It had died by 2am.. After posting setting set, shutdown at 7% ..

Solar had kicked in and once battery got to 15% by around 8:30am , we had power again in the house. Eskom finally resolve the issue - loads of cable faults around 2pm .

Still need to get the sparky in to move geysers to essential side as not having hot water when there was solar on both days to heat a geyser hurt a lot. He is so busy, but I would stick with him to ensure COC doesn't get borked as per @RonSwanson 's previous recommendation.
 
This morning had a total system failure when load shedding hit.

  1. Hubble AM2 Battery was around 56%.
  2. Some PV energy was being generated
  3. The SO had turned on the kettle - 1-2 minutes before load shedding started and the washing machine was also 10 minutes into it's 64 minute cycle.

Anyhoo, loadshedding hits and the house turns off.

Walk to the inverter which is still powered but said something like battery missing - but showed 56% SoC

Turned off everything (DC switch + off green button). Wait 10 seconds - turn on - nothing - Inverter shows battery SOC but nothing else happening. Note: No breakers were tripped.

Look at error logs on inverter, and there was a F56 message around 05:29 this morning.

Then turned off everything again. This time also turned off battery. Turned on battery. Waited - no error sounds (if a hubble makes sounds) but all LED's were green.

Then do the same with inverter and about 30 seconds later the inverter kicks into gear and uses the capacity from battery to power the house again.

Is my Hubble starting to say goodbye (because of the F56 warning beforehand) - or was it just my wife's actions of having kettle + washing machine that overloaded the inverter as it switched from grid to battery when

Was LS at or around 605am?
What is the battery discharge set to?

Usually requires switching the inverter off, switching the batteries off, turning the batteries on then turning the inverter on. The sequence might be different, I've had to fiddle around to get it going.

NB: turning the inverter off isn't a quick thing, you often have to wait a bit for a clicking sound that PLCs usually make.

Just monitor your load when running on batteries only...

I know the SunSynk/Deye has an option to limit max battery current. Does yours have something like that too?

Wondering what happened at 5:39 as we were still sleeping and nothing heavy takes place.

Yup, re: waiting for inverter to turn off - I was waiting for the SunSynk LCD to be off and no LEDs lit - and then that clicking sound :D
