Very neat and innovative, who did the install?
 
Today I am regretting following the sparky's advice to put the geysers and oven on non-essential. My plan was to always have them on essential and then let home automation sort it out.

So today 12PM loadshedding hits - which is the peak time for PV -- any I can't heat my geysers as they turned off - Home automation did it's job and turned off everything else (pool pump, kitchen appliances, etc).

Wonder how much it's gonna cost to move them back to essential inside the same DB.

Shouldn't be too pricey... I know @Mike Hoxbig was also considering doing the same

I asked them to do the same on first day but then was thinking about my evacuated tubes pump so decided against it.
Yesterday I did not have anything to run mind day so I switched on geyser to increase temperature just so it does not have to run later on or in the morning.
 
With the hotter days, decided to look at my battery / inverter temps since my garage is now starting to feel like a hot dry sauna and it was a concern.

Interesting what is happening with the battery (which is closer to the ground). Apparently still lower than 55 degrees max they talk about (must set a HA alert to inform me if it does get to 40%)

Inverter seems to run slightly hot. Guess this is normal.

I'm super keen to hook up a small fan on a sonoff but will probably only get around to it in December.

Since I have some spare PV capacity production drops off from 2pm, thinking I should do similar but something to cool the air , wonder if there is a 500w Aircon. Would be perfect
 
Folks , in JHB or perhaps everywhere.

What are your inverter / battery temps over the last two days. I noticed the inverter fans running lots last evening and my garage was rather hot (we knew this room to be hotter than rest of house) and was a concern when placing there.

Temp seems to max out around 54 degrees but wondering if this is normal.

What's interesting is max temp or 54.4 was reached at 11pm at night in the last week and the spike always in in the evening (after 5pm) when the house is not really doing anything (charging batts , high load)

Coolest temperatures in morning around 10-11am when the inverter and battery are working hardest (geysers, pump, battery charging)
Also, tonight will leave cars out to cool down before parking them in garage to see what happens .. thinking engine heat has to be contributing to increase in ambient temps

I am seeing similar on my 8kW. During the day the temperatures are up and down constantly (assuming the fan is kicking in the whole time). At night I first run off the grid until 9PM (we had a few power failures in the evening before) and then I see the temperatures slowly climb to about 52C, then it looks like the fans start because it drops quickly and then starts climbing again.

Through the night while running off batteries the temperature actually drops slowly, probably due to ambient temperature. But no fans kicking in then.

I feel my temps are dangerously high or not?
According to the manual, the normal operating temperature is 60 degrees.
