Hello

I would like to change from Mweb's 1MB Home Premium to Telkom 2MB Uncapped ADSL. As Mweb is starting to throttle me after i hit 100GB's per month.

I would like to know the following:
- After how many GB's does Telkom Throttle you on its 2MB uncapped adsl?
- How is Telkom's 2MB Uncapped for streaming?
- Also does Telkom also have that 30 day rolling period like Mweb?

Note. I watch a lot of YouTube everyday.

Thank You.

Telkom FUP is around 100GB's on the 2mb uncapped package.

The 2mb package is okay for 480p streaming, anything else and you struggling

Youtube should be fine, apart from HD videos.

No idea on the 30 day rolling period, but I'm assuming you referring to having the FUP reset at the start of each month, which Telkom does

Have you considered moving to a network and product without a throttling policy?

www.crystalweb.co.za uncapped has no specific throttle limits and I'm quite sure will make you a happy camper. Read through our product FAQ to see details of how all our products work...

Remember that data between 00h00 - 07h00 does not count towards your "cap".
You will get throttled at around 140GB.
Streaming on 2Mbps? Hmmmm.... cannot comment on that one. Should be ok on SD.
No rolling period - Allocation resets on the first of every month.

Vox 1Mbps Uncapped has no throttle limit at all and it's only R89 per month :)

Oh and there is also Afrihost Premium uncapped which has no throttle limits and works on dynamic shaping.

Hi DJ. What's your guys shaping policy like? Looking at a 4mb uncapped account from next month, downloading about 400gb p/month. Streaming the LFC games whenever they play, so need something that's not going to buffer constantly.

4Mbps Basic or Premium uncapped?

How's VOX 2MB Uncapped Home ADSL?
Whats the shaping like?
How many GB's can you use per a month (estimate?)

Just to clarify on the 2MB uncapped after you pass 30GB you will dropped to 1MB speed (120kbs)?

According to the fair usage policy link, that is correct.

Same policy doesn't apply with Crystal Web. Have a chat with one of our live chat agents if you have any queries or pop me a msg here or by PM...
