Hi guys, not sure if I'm posting in the correct forum. I had signed up for the Telkom 3 month free internet. Just wondering, how do I check how many gigs have been used? Don't want to be hit with a heavy bill at the end of the month.

Be sure to click the ''Data Usage Portal (Cap Management)'', and go to "Cap Management" to set a cap above your initial free one. That way, even when you hit your cap, you won't just be cut off from the internet. Because you're on the three month promotion, you'll get 10GB free every month(or 8GB, I forgot). After you exceed the allocated free bandwidth on promotion you'll be billed R49/GB.

You won't be cut off entirely ... you would still have some access, and definitely be able to access topup and cap management (to restore full access).

Unfortunately, the TelkomInternet tracker is currently not available due to some performance problems on the database. In the interim, please use the SAIX usage tracker.

and for peace of mind install a bandwidth monitoring application on your computer(s), to keep track of exactly how much is passing through to avoid exceeding your total allowance

Just had mine installed.Very quick I must say.is it 5gigs per month for 3 months or a total allocation of 15gig for the 3 months.
Is there a carry over on the first option.

what i meant by total allocation, is your blended cap added to your local allocation of one month. let's take my [email protected] account for example; at present it has a blended cap of 8GB and a local allocation of 20GB, therefor the total is 28GB for the month
as for the carry over question, as far as i know no account from any ISP offer a rollover feature anymore, use it or loose it

So how much do we have to pay a month? R137? And what do we need to apply with? Bank statements or credit history? I'm a studeent so I dont get a monthly income, but next year i will be working so would be nice to have line and such installed this year for free so that next year i can possibly get uncapped or something :)
