Hi There

I applied for an ADSL Line and everything was approved. the Tech came out yesterday to install the line and told me he cant install a line for me because the main cable keeps getting stolen. I was so cross. he advised that I must get LTE or wireless access.

now I am not sure what to do because I wanted the ADSL for gaming online and for downloading.

Please advise what should I do because I am clueless.

Where is JHB are you?

Had a look at Bitco for wireless? Its uncapped and they're very aware of the online gaming aspect.

I haven't used them but it seems like a good proposition, and perfect for people in your position. Don't even touch the cellular connectivity for gaming, its an ok backup, but you'll go insane in the long term.

Hi there

I am in the South of JHB in Ormonde.

I see Ormonde catches coverage. You'll just need to check that you have line of sight.

http://bitco.co.za/coverage/

I'm not sure what the prices are, but you can get a free quote from them. There is quite a large installation cost, but can be negated by signing a contract usually.
Also they may offer a trial before purchase.

Just search your location on the coverage map and click free quote.

I checked and filled in the request to quote. lets see what they say.

A friend of mine uses BitCo and is very happy with it. Plays online games and streams NetFlix etc.

I was using cellular data for a long time and it is really bad when it comes to gaming, the ping spikes, the way the weather effects it, data is expensive etc. etc. etc.

is BITCO the only option or is there others. what is the difference between LTE and Wifi?

There's another one I know of called Amobia http://www.amobia.com/

Essentially there is no difference between LTE and "Wifi". The difference comes in the administration of the the service.

For LTE you'll pay alot more for uncapped and they (cellular providers) wont really care that you need a stable ping for gaming.

"Wifi" providers are more aware of user needs and generally target the online gaming and online streaming market - from what I see.
