Oh, and yes, my line/exchange has a problem. That 39ms ping on the first hop is too high, and my ADSL2+ enabled (10 Mbps theoretical) line is syncing at 2556 kbps.

Telkom Technical

Not sure if it is the correct place to post a Telkom question. How do I got hold of the installation technicians to get some commitment as to when they will action my request to install a telephone line? I do have an ref. number:confused:

So I've been having bag lag on my line for a few weeks now. Only did a trace route now as I have had bigger fish to fry as it was not so bad before. Do I call a Telkom techie to come out or what is my first point of action? Oh, I asked LooSeeFur over on newshost to remove me from the ASSIA profile about a month ago. I don't know if this might have caused these issues for me.

Pray it stays that way - till the next techie gets to pull cables again...and plug them in somewhere else, or simply forgets to re-plug them into anything. :crylaugh:

It re-occurred for about 3 days in the last week and a half, at its worst the pings got to 3500ms! The issue persisted randomly, the one evening it was going on for a few hours, but more recently it only happened for a few minutes at a time. I did bring it to the social media's team's attention, nothing came of it. Possibly going the fibre route in the next couple of months so it's not worth the hassle bugging Telkom now.

We've had the same issues - they have fixed our HIGH latency on the DSL side - but now all our telephones are dead. Have been dead for a few days now.

pls i need help i order for a ADSL line for my business last month the technician came for the installation it happen that my environment got cable problem 44 Hilbroow Street Berea conrner Tudhope Street. Pls i need some one who can channel my matter at the rite department for help cause this is business i have calling from day one i can see no changes so am confuse. Telkom is the worst ISP that i have ever seen in my life my contact is 0786119577.

I have been having disconnect problems with my Telkom ADSL line for the past week. It constantly disconnects completely and then reconnects around 30 seconds later.
My phone no is 031261
ADSL line speed is 10Mbps
ISP is Telkom uncapped
All times of day and night
When I check the speed of the line it is around 8.5Mbps but still have problems with disconnects
No idea how to do a traceroute but will try

Our whole streets Telkom users are without phones or DSL in Helderberg Cape Town since Saturday. Every household submitted a fault on Saturday 3 days later still no phone lines or DSL and this just 2 weeks after Corline replaced the cabling here. Cant send ping or tracert as there is no line connectivity - no digital or analogue not even a diaing tone for any of the homes. Eish man....and just a few days before Christmas. :(

Experiencing the same issue here in Rivonia, Sandton. No line activity at all since the 29th

Same issue here since 2 weeks ago.

Logged 2 faults.

Fist time the response was that all is fine on Telkom side, it must be my modem. So I replaced the modem.
Logged 2nd fault. This time a technician came out. Said it was my lighting protector and that I must remove it.

Problem still persists.

Busy logging another fault.

What are your line stats?

Hi.

This morning it seems better/normal. Problem is it comes and go. Really like a roller coaster ride.

Capture.jpg

Downloading from Steam it looks like this:
Capture2.jpg

So that is my problem. Even though the Max was 1.3 it would drop to 0. Then resets and the bumpy ride continues. I am pretty sure I remember downloading from steam the graph was one solid line and was not jagged.

Same goes for the latency. One moment the game would be 210-240ms then suddenly jumps to 600ms+

I will try and post stats once the problem shows up again.

Edit: Here is my download speed from Uploaded.net
Capture.jpg

Edit2:
What is the IP 105.224.0.49 ? Getting a lot of packet loss there. Also the first hop times out.
