This not the place to list your adsl issues
I'm confused. I thought the whole point was to list your ADSL issues. "Telkom ADSL exchange and network problems: Your help needed". Perhaps you meant to say this is the place to help identify and resolve the issue, not whine about it?
Hi there
There have been many complaints about ADSL problems in some areas, and to help everyone concerned we want to start threads related to specific areas to help to identify problems.
To make sure we give as much info as possible, and that the areas are easy to find, please follow the following structure when you open a thread or make a post.
- Before you start a new thread, first search this forum to see if your suburb is not already listed.
- If your suburb is listed, post in that thread (do not start a new thread) with the info listed below
- If your suburb is not listed, start a new thread using the title structure listed below
TITLE
[suburb name] ADSL problems
BODY
--Give a short explanation of the problem
--Give the first six digits of our phone number (like 011 425 xxxx)
--ADSL line speed (like 1Mbps, 4Mbps etc)
--ISP name and account type (like MWEB uncapped)
--The time of day when you typically see these problems
Optional, but it will be great if you can also give the following information:
--A traceroute to Telkom.co.za
--The actual sync speed of the line
--The attenuation stats of the line

OKaY so this is my first "Forum Post"(not sure if thats said right) BUT my M-Web line is a 2mb Business Line and it runs perfectly,no issues at all. However people that have a home account seem to have difficulties with service, response and all that jazz.. Point being : I think theres favoritism relating to what line you have. Just saying..
Bergvliet exchange has no ports available.
ETA for upgrade is February 15th, 2015.
Upgrade is from DSLAM to ISLAM. (Outdated technology to , yes outdated technology)
This is a typical case of no forward planning. Fail to plan, plan to fail.
The lack of forward budgeting and no quote from the supplier, Lucent Alcatel.
In other words , incompetent management.
