Telkom ADSL promotion: new per-GB data pricing compared

To reiterate other posters. You cannot, should not compare specials with normal offerings. It means nothing and might force people like cellc to remove the word special from their permanent looking offers.

I thought for a minute that Telkom finally came to their senses, but only to realise that it was only for 2 months, what a lot of BS!

July and August only? ROFL so then what's the point of putting us back onto 9GB after that ? ^_^ seriously.

This sponsored Advert was brought to you by Telkom

I am pretty certain the new pricing will stick. I'm willing to put money on it. :)

Am I the only one to be a happy Telkom customer? Unshaped full 10Mbs line speed, with 50Gb per month (if you count the 30Gb local) for R154 per month (R85 discount). When/if the promotion ends it will be back to 40Gb per month. Stilll I'm happy.

50mb a month for R154? Sounds like you're being ripped off. :confused:
Ok, but seriously, it's GB, not mb... yes, line speed is 10Mbps... cap is 20GB + 30GB local (not mb)
:)

...customers will receive free promotional blended data for two months during July and August 2011.
This is a two months thing, you can't really compare it to the other guys listed on the table (as theirs are normal prices).

To be completely honest, this article is crap on a stick

Promotional pricing != New pricing

agreed! it would appear myBB writers are simply pushing articles just to meet deadlines & fill the space (we've seen plenty such articles in the recent). this article is poorly researched & the comparison tables are rubbish. you can't compare oranges, apples & bananas then try to draw some sensible conclusion.

I had the mweb application forms sitting next to my pc! (No joke)

Guess i'll be waiting 2 months!

Now I am confused. What is the use if only 3% of your clients ever exceed 9 GB?

I really don't think it is fair to be harsh on the author it is aimed at current Telkom users to show how the promotion compares to the current adsl market basically to show how cheap it is, the article clearly states that it is a two month promo, I wonder what is the incentive for Telkom to run this promotion.

Any idea if anything will come of this initiative?
