Telkom ADSL promotion: new per-GB data pricing compared

so does Do 1 get 1 + 5 = 6 or just 5? And Do 2, 5 +10 =15 or just 10 Gb, etc?

This is just a 2 month promotion, why is it being seen as a competing product with its competitors who have this as their standard pricing.

No use comparing per GB prices for a promotion since it lasts only two months.

It's a very random promotion for TI to be running. I wonder what they are up to.

To be completely honest,this article is crap on a stick

Promotional pricing != New pricing

I am confused, does this promotion apply to do broadband packages or just telkom internet all access packages?

I am on a Do 1 account and my daily Telkom status email reflects a total of 5GB of blended data available. Therefore an additional 4 GB over and above the normal allowance. This account is a backup account for me, so the promotion is of little use as I have an uncapped account for main use.

If it only runs for 2 months, then it is pretty useless in my view, as there is better value to be had elsewhere in terms of Telkom's standard pricing. However, it is possible that Telkom are really trying to test their network capacity before making permanent changes to their bandwidth allowances.

I think that this will be the new norm Pinky did say that Telkom will be offering more value for money products.

This might keep people from jumping ship to 3G, but this promotion will have to run longer than 2 months to get people back to adopt ADSL. A 20GB cap would be spot on for my purposes, but that line rental just messes up the whole value equation.

What I find funny is that a few months back some ISP's said a sub-R20 pricing wasn't sustainable. Even though this is a promotion it makes one think.

Those per gig costs are not strictly accurate, if you take the discount into account on the DO packages.

Uncapped, these various promotions, all unsustainable of course! It just hasn't come crashing down *yet* ;). But just you wait and see.

Sadly this is only news if it is permanent. This article is as stupid as running an article every time Afrihost runs the 2 for one special. I suspect they are only doing this while 8ta runs its special. The moment one ends so will the other.

not interested as I already cancelled my adsl..go to hell telkom!

I suspect this special was an after thought after they realised that the 8ta special was canibalise their ADSL products
