Telkom and there 1500 Limit !!!!

Ok so installed my adsl 17 September recieve a Bill on Friday last week i owe 1600 ok thats fair

then they cut off my line ??? so i phone them and say hey its the first bill i get from you guys ?? WTF ! they say it was cut off because telkom give the people only 1500 limit on there account because of the extra days and whatever it reaches 1600 (pro rata ) bla bla

is this correct ?

lol yes, they love doing that ****. The installation costs/rent etc is usually quite a bit more than the normal month to month. Luckily they phoned me complaining of non-payment of the account before they cut me off, and I promptly told them this is my first month with them and I haven't received an invoice yet. And without an invoice I won't pay.

I reckon the only reason they didn't cut me off immediately is that I have had some past accounts with them so my credit rating is better. The default 1500 kicks in normally if it's your first time.

You just lost your virginity! cewt!
 
The best part is that they will probably charge you R200/R300 reconnection fee as well

Those incidents kept happening to me when I had ISDN 128. Ran a room for X pats on PalTalk along with a ex SA guy in USA. My wife was constantly p****d at me. Now I have 1 of these account where I have 1000 min during day for the month and free after hours. My daughter just love those after hour for free chats. I chug along on the net. My wife pays the account. No surprises. Every month same price. Everybody happy, well... sort off.

The R 1500 Limit is not true as far as I know.

I was in a Telkom direct shop (maybe that made a difference - not really sure...) when the lady entered my details on their screen.
I had an new phone line activated and then on the same day then went in to the Telkom shop to request 4 MB/s Do3 Broadband package on that line.
I watched what she was doing and clearly saw her typing in (maybe changing it because of what i had requested..? ) R 2 500 as my credit limit.

I can promise you that it is true. It happened a couple of times to me as stated in my previous post. Telkom phoned me month after month and then I had to pay long before the actual due date. The 1 month I could not pay immediately and requested if I could pay at the end of the month, when I receive my salary and when the account was due to be paid. She first said no and later checked with somebody and then okayed it. The monthly limit was also then lifted to R2500.00. I never had any of those problems again.
 
The limit depends on you, My limit is R5000, if my bill goes above that then they cut me off.

I only found that out when I upgraded to 4 MEG, the lady said, the upgrade was approved because of my R5000 limit would cover the extra cost.
