Telkom blocking torrents??

OK so it looks like there might genuinely be a problem with Telkom Internet, it's not necessarily a bad torrent issue. Great...

Does Telkom monitor this forum? Or are our chances of hearing from them zero?

0 chance of getting any usefull/fixes from them, they will update asking for trace routes but after that nothing

im in the same boat.:(
thought so, used a different ISP last night and all running 100%, so Telkom is currently completely blocking torrents on capped packages from 12-6am......... thanks Telkom........

Same here in Eldoraigne. Getting speeds of between 0.1kbps to 350 in a matter of seconds...but mostly lower than 25

Can't believe this is still going on I'm even restricted at night don't get more than 2.0 kbs I remember getting 200kbs I was even happy with 40kbs but this is ridiculous.

I discovered this too.
For the first time since i have ever used Telkom Uncapped i have noticed that even leaving it overnight im stuck on 5Kbps, for the last 2 nights.
I just bought 30 gigs from Afrihost for a speed up and they are going at 200Kbps.

I took this up with Telkom, and they claim it's a fault (open for the last 3 months). Last night and today the speeds are shockingly slow. 0.5kb/s on a 2Meg line.

Too true DA. What a bunch of crap (a fault) they are actively blocking us. 3 months my hole.

I tried downloading an Ubuntu distro and it went at full speed. It appears that Telkom are being selective in their blocking (targeting trackers?) . All other torrents from the usual sites are effectively stopped.

Im sure you could have used a FTP for that.

My torrent downloads has been great since the weekend. Managed to get up to around 400kbps on my 4mbps line. I'm happy. However, I have raised the TI cancelation request and switching to AH most probably...

Why are you guys still flogging this dead horse?
Don't use torrents, use nzb.

Unfortunately, doing par occasionally kills my raspberry pi (my download and NFS server). I also noticed I often get lucky enough to download corrupted files that after downloading GBs but par2 is unable to repair. Lastly, the media I download is far faster and smaller to get it from torrent than nzb. :)

It did seem to improve for a bit but now back and slower than ever....

How do you figure that torrents are faster and smaller?
NZB I get full line speed.
You don't get faster than that.
