Telkom bumps up ADSL caps

Godfrey Ntoele. Remember that name so that if you see it you know whatever he says is LIES. How can he spew that rubbish out of his mouth?! "International standards"? Wahaha

Really tired of local corporates selectively using International Standards only when it suites the situation:mad:
This reference is just a hook without bait though - they are on another planet. SAPS narcotics should pay them a visit as they are either high on something or have a significant lack of education:sick:

+1

This is typically what we can expect from all ISP's, keeping prices the same and giving 20-50% extra bandwith, which is fine by me...sorry to hear about telkoms soft cap disapearing :-):-):-)

LOL?

The fact I get 4.5GB on my 3GB... And now the official is 5GB means I only get 500MB more. big whoop

I still think that there is more to come and that this is the opening salvo in the broadband price reduction/improved offerings battle.

The tariff filing is compulsory; further improvements are not.

ooh yay!! enjoy... sorry just had too post a useless comment. It's the way I feel about Telkom.

“For the past few years we have been aligning our prices to be more competitive and in line with international standards"

Winner to BS statement of 2009 goes to Telkom.

not on the broadband. The increase only applies to telephony. ADSL remains the same (which when taken into account with inflation is an effective decrease).

Correction - SELECTIVE Telephony.
Inflation should be dumped as a benchmark - for one it seems doctored (or selective sampling/stats) and for two - 99% of the figure most likely consists of lack of competence and striking / go slow workers. Why should the consumer be conned to accept payment for these factors.

Before inflation rate was punted - people went to evening classes to improve their skills - for a better paying job / promotion etc. Now they just strike and break stuff or go slow:mad:

And of course the new prices are an incentive for Neotel to offer really competitive products.

NOT.

It's going to be a long while before South Africans will be able sit comfortably without a haemorrhoids cushion ....

Ja, only on some of the telephony products. Not all of them were increased. On the whole, despite the lack of decreases, it was nice to see so little increases.

I knew telkom was going to give us the finger. They have no competition in ADSL /fixed line. They have us all by the b@lls. Why would they drop any prices (or increase caps)?

As long as there is no (true) competition , we can smile and take it up the butt.

I really thought Neotel would be a competitor to Telkom...
