Telkom bumps up ADSL caps

Now I just need Vodacom to give me 5GB for around R400 and I will be happy....for now.
 
The sale of their Vodacom stake, the failed Telkom Media attempt, the exploration into 3G which is now costing a hefty amount coupled with people becoming educated and leaving them for other Internet Service Providers.

Yes, they need to keep their stakeholders - OUR GOVERMENT - happy and continue ripping us off.

So you can now get 3GB for the price of 2GB, and 5GB for the price of 3GB. That is a decrease :p

If you assume 1GB was R70, it will now go for around R45. The rest stays almost the same, which effectively results in a slight decrease.

You total cost might not drop by a lot, but your bandwidth is dropping by around 33%.

Wonder how it's going to affect other ISPs though.
 
I'd rather have had the speed. The cap increase applies only to those with Telkom ADSL accounts.
 
WTF quite honestly I have a 2Gig account and now I can get 3Gigs? WTF I ALREADY am only capped on 3Gigs.

Geez this is a disgrace!
 
Something is not rite, what happens to the soft caps now? Telkom used to soft cap you on a 3GB account to about 5.x GB international.
If a 3GB moves to 5GB, what will the 5GB soft cap be at? Or does it hard cap you now at 5GB (international) precisely and 30GB local?

Oh well :(

I have a colleague at work, visiting and working from India, he says you can get a TATA Telecoms 12MB line for the equivalent of around R300pm!!! THIS IS INDIA PPL, MY HELL WHAT IS GOING ON!!!

India is the the telecoms capital of the world. You might as well start a hissy fit about why there is more gold in South Africa than in Antarctica.

Who thought it would be otherwise? No Vodacom cash cow, loss of clients due to retrenchments and company liquidations, and never ending cable theft.
 
Until 3 days a go I was capped on my Do3 account. I'm now uncapped and have done just over 5GB...maybe there is hope!
 
I can only laugh. Telkom, your a disgrace to this country.
