Telkom confirms wireless network plan

If only they would roll it out to those areas where these is no copper left and where there are no alternate services available...

If Telkom does indeed come in with aggressive pricing, which is widely expected, it will indeed be a welcome addition to the local wireless broadband market. Neotel set the stage and it will be great to see what Telkom comes up with – if priced well enough I am sure the take-up will be good. An even nice prospect is lower mobile, or at least semi-mobile, voice rates. I think dual-sim phones will be the way to go here…
 
telkom official launch is on the 10th oct.
wonder when we will get to see their service offerings.
 
you must realise that initially the network will be launched as a fixed wireless solution, similar to what neotel is offering. Once telkom manages to increase their coverage nationally over the next 12 months or so, only then will they start taking on the cellular operators
 
May I ask, I have do 3, can I cancel my Vodacom 3g contract and use my modem with a Telkom sim with my do 3 account details on it?
