Hi All,

A mate of mine recently upgraded his phone to the Samsung A7 through Telkom,

When getting home and setting it up he found that the data speed was ridiculous (Sub 1Mbps) ; he returned the phone to Telkom who treated it as an OBF and immediately replaced it and the SIM card. (#great service)

However the new phone and SIM are doing exactly the same thing.

Below is a table of a test I have run using his phone, mine and a PC,

WiFi ::: RAIN Sim and Router
Speedtest using Ookla

Speaking to the Telkom representative, they are clueless as to how to resolve.

Any ideas from your side?

Tx in advance

Seems like you have really bad Telkom signal or major congestion. Telkom are stupid for treating it as OBF as clearly nothing wrong with phone. What are speeds like when traveling to another location - i.e. different tower. Why not just roam on MTN?

Speeds are consistently bad across various suburbs :(

The MTN contract is mine ; just used it as a test to satisfy myself that the actual handset was not faulty.
