Hi All,

Im thinking of porting the wifes number to the Telkom network.

How is your experience with coverage? Voice and Data.

Thanks

Hi Bionic

Thank you for considering Telkom Mobile. When you choose Telkom Mobile we check if the area you reside in has Network Coverage both for Voice and Data. You can also visit our side to check coverage on http://www.telkommobile.co.za/coverage/ or visit the nearest Telkom Mobile Store for further assistance.

Our work phones were all ported to TM recently, I haven't had any issues. My boss, however, had connectivity issues on his S4, but a simswap sorted out that issue.

Hi Macarvelah

Thank you for considering Telkom Mobile. If your current Network number is on prepaid the answer is "Yes" you can port the number as contract. Just visit your nearest Duban Central Branch for further assistance.

Excellent!!

Before porting your primary number go to your local store and purchase a starter pack that way you can experience the service first hand and have peace of mind.

Remember Telkom Mobile DATA only*home network* is dependant.

Feel tempted to take them up on their offer!! Don't like itchy fingers.

Sorry guys... that didn't come out right. Apologies

No harm done, Bionic! :)

We are just very passionate about Telkom Mobile, as we're saving a ton of money and having a fantastic experience with our mobile service provider. ;)

Beware though: The web page is very generous with its coverage guestimate. I had to return mine the next morning since although the coverage maps clearly shows coverage for both 3G the phone shows precisely no bars (edge occationally fades in and out). I would suggest avoiding Telkom mobile if you are even close to edge of the "coverage" area.

Also be aware that they sell the gimped 3G only version of the phone despite the instore promotional material (on the slides on the TV) showing both LTE and download booster as features; which the phone they actually supply lacks.
