Telkom demonstrates 200 Mbps Mobile LTE

What is happening at Telkom Mobile???

I am starting to dream of using a 5GB data bundle on that speeds.

we don't need 200 Mbps, we need a stable speeds of around 20 Mbps and we'll be happy

Ah, according to the article it was jumping between 150 and 200... why would you want to throttle yourself to 20Mbps?

I would like to know the configuration used?

I am guessing 20MHz channel width with 4X4 MiMo.....

Also what range is used 2300MHz to 2368Mhz? as Telkom only has access to 68MHz of total channel width in the 2300MHz band....

Sneaky one there hummercellc, almost stole the closely guarded telkom secret there...

Because those are theoretical speeds (controlled environment), once its released to the mass market it'll never get to those speeds

Yeah, on TDD they must be using 4x4 MIMO, otherwise they could have carrier aggregation....but not sure if the chinese can do that correctly yet....

Theoretical peak is what, 240Mbps with 20Mhz and 4x4 MIMO for TDD?

WOW, What tower is he using... this is what I'm getting with my Telkom mobile.

i remember last year vodacom did the same thing. and now you do not get anything near to what they showed.
More BS
Maybe understand how radio networks work, then you don't need to (incorrectly) call BS on everything?

And where did TM ever claim every customer will get 200Mb/s? Or Vodacom 60Mb/s? Which is what I demo'd last year.

And they've got a total of 60MHz. As I said to Zoltan and Amith this morning, with that amount of spectrum it would be difficult NOT to get 200Mb/s. :)

Wow, 200Mbps is freaking awesome!! Just wish the speed each user gets as more people are connected doesn't drop too much - I am guessing as more people are connected to the tower the slower the speed each user gets.

Big up to TM, well done !!! However, I would rather have better coverage of our country at 10 Mbps than 200 Mbps in a few select areas. The moment I leave my city and get on the national roads, I lose TM HSPA/3G.

Big deal. Doing a high speed demo doesn't alter the fact that 8ta is the worst mobile data network. In the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, I struggle to connect on HSPA+. I keep on getting EDGE. And when I do get HSPA+ speed totally sucks.

I'm not interested in your demoes. Make it happen in REAL LIFE.

And Telkom does not even offer LTE to prepaid customers, only contract.

Using these clowns is a total waste of time and money.
