Hi everyone =) I am new to mybroadband, so please assist if I have posted in the wrong place or wrong format.

Ok, so since the big storm we had i Durban in October last year, we have had no phone line at home. We logged a complaint / fault, and waited. My dad did most of his business via phone, but it was not an issue, ultil we started getting issues with our Adsl internet( afrihost) That there was an issue with the telkom exchange. So, we queried about our fault, and the only two weeks later did the technicians come. I was not at home, my gran was, so they came in and said no it was an issue with the pole outside. Once they left, so did my internet.

It has been a month, and I have harrassed and harrassed telkom, phoned everyday from work asking what is going on, and all they can say is it has been assigned to a technician, but they don't know how long it can take....

I am just so over this, I just want to know if anyone has had the same experience as me, and what they did to resolve it?

I was in the same boat, we had two huge storms last year (first one was in August), the first one colossally screwed my DSL, it was then fixed after a month and shortly after that the second storm caused permanent damage to the nearby MSAN which they only sorted out last week. It took almost 6 months but things are back to normal. I've probably logged 8+ faults every time the technician would just clear the fault without fixing it.

I'll be honest with you, you're a bit screwed. I kind of lucked out eventually with a technician who knew his **** and he sorted me out. Had that not happened my next move was to abandon DSL for LTE, my advice is keep logging faults, keep escalating those faults and hopefully eventually you'll be sorted out.
