Telkom fibre prices

Coverage in Cape Town is very limited, I'd sign up tomorrow if I could.
 
I am still put off by the 24 month contract.

So either I stick with 4Mbps month to month or 20Mbps for 2 years.

Will wait and see how things develop first.
 
I imagine the the 24 months is if you want a free fibre router same as adsl. Anyway time will tell.
 
Do you get to keep your telephone number with the new fibre line? Can you still send and receive faxes over fibre?

I think even if the upload was half the download I'd be supremely happy.

It's the same network - runs via PPPoE just like ADSL. In fact, for a friend's trial, we simply swapped the ADSL modem out for the fibre router Telkom provided, and the PPPoE session from their Mikrotik router established immediately.
