Telkom hikes prices

Petrol, food, electricity, rates and now this are all going up, only thing that isnt going up is my salary :(

Pricing is a key element of their value proposition yet they raise prices.

Line rental is what makes Telkom go round.

And where is Neotel? Nowhere? Off course they aren't!

Pathetic isn't it?! R125 for line rental. That will get you a decent cell phone contract and nice phone these days.

"Our broadband customers will also be glad to hear that our submission makes provision for the monthly subscription charges for ADSL, Do Broadband and Telkom Internet to remain unchanged," says Ntoele.

Anyone else find it amusing that that name is an anagram of "Neotel"?

:D

What's more pathetic is you have to pay it on ADSL even if you don't want the voice phone line.

So pretty much now I have to haul out another R33 per month...

as one of the guys said, the only thing not going up is my salary.

Considering that inflation is far higher its amazing to see that the prices arent going up more! But it is **** that you must have an anologue line for dsl

I see they are not changing prices on ADSL, maybe they want people to go that way and ditch ISDN etc... so by charging more, people will move... just something I'm wondering out loud.

The irony is that you can have DSL without having voice on the same line. Myself and several other Forumites have had instances where your ADSL is working, but your voice segment line is dead (no dial tone)

So it's not like it would be hard at all for them to allow DSL without a phone line :(
