If true, and if it works as most people are speculating, then Telkom is finally starting to put the pieces together in terms of their various business units/services/offerings to create compelling customer propositions. It starts giving me hope that we could see more innovative and converged products starting to emerge from the Telcos.

ADSL numbers have fallen and Telkom land line customers are decreasing. This could revive landline sales...

Seems as though the catch may be that you can't buy a 3G/LTE offering and only a standalone ADSL softcap ISP account and go hog wild. I suspect that you'd need the physical ADSL/FTTH line installed too. That's still a good deal for people who have ADSL at home and use Telkom 3G/LTE for mobility. If however 3G/LTE is your primary connection at home, you're probably not going to sign up for an ADSL line too.

1GB of 3G/LTE data currently goes for R99. Compare that to 10GB ADSL data for the same price and it doesn't seem that bad.

Errr...does that mean I can downgrade to 1mbps ADSL and then use the data on mobile which could theoretically run 20x faster???
