Telkom Internet account free data

Hi Everybody

I have a telkom internet account 5 gigs and I read on myadsl that they where giving an extra 4 gigs for free for july/august, that makes it a total of 9 gigs for august,I have currently used 11 gigs so far and have not been capped yet for local only.

My question is should I continue using the account or not I do not want a huge bill at the end of the month,plus I would like to use the local data on the news servers
I phoned telkom and they said that it was fine that they where running a promotion and that I can use it until I get capped, BUT we all know Telkom employees they are clueless .So what should I do

AFAIK, they don't charge if you over cap on international, but they charge you for local, just check on your control panel thing, maybe its setup to cut off at later amount of usage.
 
The 5 gb was increased to 9 permanently and to 20 gb for the july and august promotion

Yes that is true and they don't charge you normally if the international bugs out and keeps working. It is only the local data which gets charged if you go over the cap.

You putting do 2 and do 3 together

Do3 was 9 gigs and changed to 10 gigs and 20 gigs for the promotion (5 gigs was a year or two ago I think)

Do2 is 5 gigs can't remember what it changed to in August

Its a Do2 5Gigs International and 20gigs local as far as I know last month I got 9 gigs international and 20 gigs local

You can safely ignore any over usage of blended gigs as Telkom has undertaken to automatically transfer you to local ons your allocated blended has been capped. AFAIK the only time you risk being charged for additional usage is if you exceed the 20gb local allowance.

My original answer referred to the Do3 package which increased from 5GB to 9GB on 1 August 2010 and will increase from 9GB to 10GB on 1 September 2011. In terms of the July/August 2011 promotion an additional 11GB was added to the 9GB for those months - let us hope that the promotion was actually a trial and they decide to keep it at that level. (The Do2 received an additional 4GB for July/August on an original 5GB which should increase to 6GB from 1 September if I am not mistaken)

telkom 3 months internet

I want to know, i signed with telkom on the 22 of September did i the 5Gig and 10Gig promotion or the 10gig and 20gig?
