Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Ok I restart my pc, and I can now log into my router with a lan cable. New problem (this is really annoying me) I moved my router to my phone line now, switch my wifi on on the router, the wifi led flickers for a few seconds then the wifi led switches off....

Have you entered your Isp details ( username and password). You proably need to do the setup, including wireless setup (SSID, password and security)

Ok I got my wifi right now. I also included my old settings that I had before the port reset and the problem persists. So in phoning customer care tomorrow cos my connection is still limited.

Hello all, moved to AH Business uncapped. just using a capped account to tie me over untill I sign up tomorrow. Everything is as it should be.

Getting same problems with Afrihost, so I'm guessing something is congested

Getting 50KB/s on newsgroups, 10mb account - and it hasn't been cancelled after numerous requests. WTF is wrong with these retards?

Seems my account has been cancelled, at some random date that had nothing to do with 30 day notice.

Currently on Afrihost free 1GB - night and day difference.

I followed many of your posts, i do hope all comes right for you as you (among many others) have suffered too much while on Ti. :(

On another note, please post if you can access the Telegraph site (redirecting to local CDN). Can't even open the video for the livestream to commence at 9am for O.P. Trial.

Watch live Oscar Pistorious murder trial via Telegraph. DSTV's one works but quality not grand :/. As a last resort i will use it.

Edit: I see WinMTR (thanks ranger) shows more info than normal tracert and the culprit maybe MWEB.

Edit2: Seems something changed now (not routing via MWEB). Noticed above there was a small percentage of loss (13%). All good now :D

Never had a problem with afrihost.
TI = endless issues since I got them.
Afrihost = no issues and everything runs perfectly.

At least that's my experience

Same, My progression (MWEB since BigBlackBox days -> Afrihost Business from 2012 -> TI from end 2013 to now -> Afrihost Business)

I'd say the worst thing about Telkom is the lack of presence on this forum. They are unwilling to admit that their service levels were bad, and they did nothing to help calm the nerves of the consumer down with public statements or anything.

AH and Mweb I'd have to say are ok but the AUP on Mweb rubs me the wrong way so I wont be going back to them

My expirience with Telkom has been the past 3 months, In those 3 months I have had maybe 5 flawless days of internet. Day 1 of AH business today and it is amazing.

Day #13 waiting for a telkom technician to be dispatched to sort out the noise on my line

What made you leave AH in the first place?

I moved properties and hence had to cancel my DSL until I found my feet again. I moved (ISPs not residence) because I was upgraded to 4meg from 2 meg and was told on this thread (part 1) that 4meg TI was really good. It is also cheaper than what I was paying Afrihost. Little did I know, day or two after I got my account, these problems started showing up. I waited in the hopes that it would just get better, it never got better.

Also very strongly contemplating leaving TI. Just popped over to the Business uncapped thread and the forum reps seem to be doing their jobs very well. In this thread, when the TI reps do pitch, they only assist those that brown nose them. The rest of us peasants are merely ignored.

Everything is correct. My password didn't change. Telkom is not replying on fb either.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my settings?
Telkom says that everything is fine on their side...funny how it all went pear shaped after they reset my port on Saturday and everything stopped working. They did another reset this morning and still I cant connect to the internet.

Try set up a free 1GB Afrihost account and set those as your router's connection settings. If that works then it is definitely your login. The red light flashing on a 2750U means there is no active internet connection as far as the router can tell.

Things are crap yet again. Seems every day after 5 until about 7 I can't stream anything higher than 360p.

Can't tell where the congestion could be other than the 6th hop.... Also, why are literally 6 of the hops within 3ms of each other? 3-5 are 2ms apart and 8-10 are 0ms apart. :|

@Yuu - tried the stream, less than stellar connecting. Although my Afrihost Business uncapped acccount is also not doing to well. Capped is fine.

o my....finally got my account sorted out after an hour on the phone. What I do not understand is how, after my port reset, my ppp password changed. I did not touch that.
