I suspect they tried a fix last night because in the early morning hours we were flying but now during the day its virtually impossible to stream let alone download anything. Obviously the fix has not worked and we are getting a dreadful service. Oh well we can only hope that eventually we will get back to some sort of reliable product. At the moment not happy with what we are getting.:crying:

Yes, it does.

It does. When i was on 2Mbps I would get throttled after the 150GB mark. Now on 4 Mbps I get throttled after about 210GB+-. It does depend though on your pattern. For best results, schedule your download between 00:00 - 06:00.

Either Telkom's ISP network has a problem or my downloads are being throttled the past 3 days. I switched to Afrihost and getting full speeds.
Can't comment on that. I had to leave TI a couple of months ago, but yes I'm sure that are issues. Friend of mine is getting full line speed on 4 Meg.
Weird how the experiences differ.

If your friend or dog has no issues we can't really ask them questions on how much data they've used in the past 30 days or ask if they're set to "managed".

This throttling is a new thing for me as previously I only noticed it in the evenings but the past 3 days it has been the whole day.

He is actually a newish TI customer and got throttled on a 4Mbps line to 40KB/s. I'm not sure about the total of bandwidth used, but it would probably not be a lot.

I asked him to have them check his profile and it was on Basic, the wrong one. They then buggered up his connection and password and after that was sorted he is going at 4Mbps line speeds in the new month.

Can't stream a thing again
I can't wait for the 22nd when I'll be done with Telkom for good, I hope.

1. Same problem here.
2. Starting to consider that, myself. It's sad because I prefer dealing with JUST Telkom, rather than having the data provider blame Telkom's infrastructure, or vice-versa.

Afrihost 1GB is allowing me to stream Source (full HD) Twitch. Telkom won't even stream medium without buffering. Test account has the same problems

Anyone have a solution for streaming after 5pm on Telkom with 4mbps line/account?
It's completely dead for me for the past 2 months.
Streams 2 seconds, buffers 2 minutes on 240p videos and youtube.
Downloads full line speed and 5 am the next morning streaming is perfect again until the evening.
Will a VPN or different DNS settings work?

Also every time someone calls the land line, my internet gets stuck and I need to reset the router.
Only happens on weekdays and Telkom ISP, changed splitter boxes nothing helps.
On Afrihost 1GB account everything is fine.

Reported it several times and it supposedly got resolved(according to telkom) but no change.
Any help?

Yes, get a capped account as a backup.
