The supposed upgrades made the network much much worse for me up in Gauteng when they kicked in last week.I heard about network upgrades taking place in Cape Town last week - thought that your experience was a direct result of that...
Hopefully today's change is a result of a fix and not just that the network is less utilized.

There's no doubt you've been put on a 10Mb exchange with those speeds.
Not sure any 'fix' was implemented. My experience is that in Gauteng it is now worse.
My connection has been erratic the entire weekend.
Couple of hours near perfect and then suddenly near death slow... For hours.
Speedtests are useless as they give no indication of line performance.
FNB Connect, Afrihost - no issues.

It is really bad now. This makes me think that as soon as the network reaches x utilization it goes to crap.
Sunday morning many people were probably in church or sleeping late.
Telkom need to buy more capacity. I am sure they did so early this year. Feb? surely it's time to do so again.

I've been trying to download a 400mb software update all day. It runs at 5k-20k and keeps failing 50-90% into the transfer. Telkom are no longer delivering a service.
At this point I can only assume that they actually want everyone to cancel.

Connection has been horrible today. Frequent disconnections. Speeds when connected have also been on non-existent as 99% of pages wouldn't load.
As fate would have it, was PM'd earlier by a member of the forum (who saw the crap I was being forced to deal with, with TI) offering me an alternative which I plan on accepting.

Problem is since Wednesday this speed is the norm during the day. It probably only bothers people today as it's the first weekend the problem has been like this. Tomorrow everyone is downloading Game of Thrones so I'm sure tomorrow is going to be another day of people posting in this thread.
I'm also having problems with TI, specifically with gaming and Diablo 3. My Latency is always high, between 500 - 2000ms. I've Ran speedtests for both local and international and everything seems fine but as soon as i join a server everything goes to poop. The only time the latency is decent enough to play is around 12 am, which is useless with my schedule.I've had so many problems with gaming and TI that i think its time for a move to another ISP, unless this problem is somehow rectified.
