After waiting for a long time in the hope that things would improve, I logged a fault, and provided the traceroutes and other data they required. After 4 days and absolutely no response from them (and, no improvement in the service), I decided to cancel.
After a few attempts at getting through to cancellations where I gave up after being on hold for 20 minutes, I decided to just stay the course today. A lady finally answered after being on hold for 41 minutes. I gave her the details she wanted, only to have the phone go dead in my ear before we could complete the process. No confirmation SMS received, nothing. So, am I now cancelled, or do I need to call again?
I have sent a cancellation email to
[email protected] which TelkomZA advised I should.
I have gone into a store, but apparently I have to dial 10210 from the store to cancel, and 10210 had already closed for the day.
Telkom, customer retention is not making it difficult to cancel, it's giving service good enough your customers don't want to leave in the first place. If you weren't a monopoly, you wouldn't be in business.
Shockingly, shockingly bad service. Can't wait to see the back of them.
