Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

@ TelkomInternet why can I not watch a 240p video without buffering on a 4 Meg line, this is unacceptable.

For me the speed issues start about this time of the day and only ends at about 11 PM anyone else notice this?

Exactly this.

This morning it was excellent. Now it has reverted to 384k levels again. I don't know who's in charge but he's a retard!

Back at home from holiday next week Tuesday. then I will ring up 10210 people and tell them to cancel. then Telkom will inevitably mess up my bill but I will suck it up just for the pleasure of moving my business elsewhere.

After waiting for a long time in the hope that things would improve, I logged a fault, and provided the traceroutes and other data they required. After 4 days and absolutely no response from them (and, no improvement in the service), I decided to cancel.

After a few attempts at getting through to cancellations where I gave up after being on hold for 20 minutes, I decided to just stay the course today. A lady finally answered after being on hold for 41 minutes. I gave her the details she wanted, only to have the phone go dead in my ear before we could complete the process. No confirmation SMS received, nothing. So, am I now cancelled, or do I need to call again?

I have sent a cancellation email to [email protected] which TelkomZA advised I should.

I have gone into a store, but apparently I have to dial 10210 from the store to cancel, and 10210 had already closed for the day.

Telkom, customer retention is not making it difficult to cancel, it's giving service good enough your customers don't want to leave in the first place. If you weren't a monopoly, you wouldn't be in business.

Shockingly, shockingly bad service. Can't wait to see the back of them.

TI at a stand still, sites are hanging to open. Can't buffer a 5min vid. Past the point of ridiculous. Cancelation is in order

I have a 2mb line and I'm not a heavy downloader. My line is almost always idle, and I have just a little bit of green bar on the usage tracker... Like a quarter. I should not be throttled and yet I can't get into my cloud storage after 5, and I can't use DC++ at all, at any time of day. It's disgusting!

Is there a fault, or is this their service now? Because I didn't ask for or need the speed upgrade. I'd be happy to go back to 1mb and have my internet work.

Ditto 5 mins for a page to load and back on my Afrihost 30gig prepaid account.
Im so over Telkom right now.

Couldn't even access this thread via Tapatalk, had to switch to cell c 3g on my phone. Speed test from my phone just said connection error. When your network is worse than cell c 3g, you know you got problems! :(

4mbps uncapped, Jhb

That is better than I'm getting. I can traceroute. DNS is working fine, but I can't access any websites. They time out. It start about 2 hours ago.

The other weird problem is I can trace route, but getting ping timeouts, meaning no throughput. I did a router reset and this didn't solve the problem

There is a fault connected to accounts, not the exchanges or bandwidth. They are trying to fix it (been open for 3 months +) Presumably their NOC hasn't figured out the management yet and has stuck it on 90% shape.

I got exactly the same very bad for 5 minutes from 9:10. Ping and DNS was fine but couldn't load websites. Now it's better. My speedtest is good now so hopefully it was just a temporary thing
