Like I said in earlier post: there is no fixed trend.
Some days are better, some worse, weekday evenings generally very bad.
Weekends: I've had weekends of streaming and download bliss and vice versa.
Worked from home today - Skype audio, MS Lync conference calls with video, virtual whiteboards and PPT content all in parallel - no problem, crystal clear and ultra sharp.
however...
at 18h00 I return home from a quick run and cannot even stream 702.co.za to listen to the MoneyTalk...
Immediately changed to Afrihost account and waddayaknow... full speed everything, until about an hour later and everything's slow - must be intermittent exchange congestion.
Bottom line - not sure whether any of this is hitting home with Telkom or any other ISP for that matter.
Seems their attitude is that we are at their mercy and have to 'shape up' or 'ship out'.
I agree with what another poster in this thread said - changing ISPs is like changing lanes - always looks faster until you do.
Probably best to keep a couple of them accounts handy on a PAYG/Top-up basis and pay(pray) as you go per gig. Heavy users - good luck - this might become expensive, but then again, it's our money they're after, not our satisfaction, even though they do their best to make us believe that.
