Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Have you tried the Telkom Guest account? Run a tracert with it.
Yes and nothing happens, can't connect with that either....guest@telkomadsl password guest. Tracert fails on the telkom website. On my account it only goes through one hop

In my router settings it shows no upstream or downstream, no line attenuation etc. But the phone lines work?

Was up and down for me too. Obviously ranger and co are busy with something.

Nope, if you can't auth as guest@telkomadsl, it's the DSLAM that is not working in some way (if you can sync, probably backhaul down, if not, the DSLAM has failed in some way e.g. power failure).

Thanks, was going to post this but got preoccupied elsewhere... :D

Durban site is pretty epic. Using 50GB softcap on 13.2Mbps line and its solid. Low latency both locally and internationally.

Just wish you could motivate to have the do bundles adjusted a bit but I know its not your department.... sigh I really want 100GB softcap with a 20Mbps line for a decent price. I'm paying R601 for the 50GB + 20Mbps line now and if I upgrade to 100GB it will end off costing R1054 which is actually MORE than the 100GB + 40Mbps line @ R979

Does this look ok ? This is my 3rd attempt at posting it, because my connection is pretty much dead in the water. Whether using TI or ITNT capped account, my connection grinds to a halt. I'm not really clued up with how exchange congestion works ... or looks, for that matter.

Its not congested but something is wrong exchange side. You should not see the * there. It means your losing connection or maybe packet loss or it timing out for whatever reason.

I was connected fine but my net was totally dead. Came to the thread and saw others were having issues too, so assumed it was a widespread issue.

Thanks for the clarity. Any idea what I can do to try and resolve the problem ? Or where to start ?

I meant to send a link to your post in the soft-capped thread to the product manager, buy was too busy. Will try find time tomorrow.

BTW., if you topped up the 50GB+20Mbps with 50GB you would get to something like R860 (can't remember exact price, but tends towards R5/GB), and the topup rolls over to the end of the next month.

Ohh yes I did forget about that option. Some one did mention it but did not actually check the Top Up options out. Awesome then.
