And have you even bothered to send ONE of them via PM to ranger or the email address he gave you?

Seeds determines speed. Often there are enough seeders, thats not the issue.
Not always true. A single, quality seed could max out your 4Mbps line.

Torrents off at present, and overnight were pretty low. I'm puzzled why Telkom is asking us to download overnight, then hobbles the speed??
Strange, I was awake most of the night and my torrents came through at line speed.

I have a 2meg line and I provide feedback as and when it occurs. It isn't a pissing contest at all. If your service is perfect 99% of the time, then that's your business. Clearly you live in a different province (which ranger says repeatedly) and it gives different results.

I have opened faults with the official rep and am awaiting the outcome. I don't believe we should be PMing any unofficial people with private references, and I have asked him to send me his details, which has been refused.

You are still new to MyBB and need to learn who you can trust. Ranger is one of those.

He's here in his private capacity. The way Telkom works is that he cannot become an official rep as he is not in a "customer facing" type section. I'd far rather have ranger assist me with a TI related issue than the official rep (no disrespect to Charl).

'cos he's not here in his official capacity as a telkom employee. Just read his sig. Thank goodness I say - at least we get some insight into what's going on, 'cos officially we get nothing.

You'll also see the lack of detail in the TelkomZA posts... they are bound by very tight corp comms policies.

Charl has actually been ace everytime I've had any issues involving my line and sync, etc. he's always managed to resolve issues that most, if not all support people at Telkom fail to sort out. He's currently assisting me with a problem that the rest of Telkom has brushed off as non existent.

Just feel it's fair to give a Telkom rep some credit where it's due.
Granted.

However, if you have determined that your issue is TI related (and not line or network related) then having a direct line to ranger is a huge bonus. If you log it with TelkomZA, they have to go through some hoops to get to the cause and then refer it to ranger anyway!

Agreed. I generally just PM Charl for any non TI issues. Other issues normally gets resolved within a day or a few hours. Just running tests this weekend to see if my router is the culprit (as per his request) for all the disconnects and speed drops, which it looks like it may be the case. Borrowed my dad's D-Link for the weekend and speeds have been perfect since late yesterday afternoon without having to reboot once. I suppose that problem bundled with the IPC issue in KZN made it difficult to troubleshoot, but at least one is out of the way now.

Nah, I got the Netgear from the Telkom store 4 months ago. I'm sure the warranty will cover it if I can confirm it is actually the problem.

OT, but do you reckon the D-Link is a better router ? I imagined the Netgear was a better brand. Both were going for R699 when I went to the store. I will take it back, but do I ask for another Netgear 2200, or go the D-Link route ? I doubt they'd give me a hard time about which one I opt for.
