Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

I'm on 76GB at the moment. Nothing downloaded during night surfer time.

This is what the usage bar looks like at the moment - 4Mb Uncapped ...

A while ago i was at 173GB on 4Mb Uncapped. I think also depends on the daily use.

I have the 10Mb Uncapped as of yesterday and it is ridiculously slow. My line is 100% with perfect SNR and Attenuation Rates.
If Telkom does not fix it soon I`m going back to 4Mb Uncapped or different ISP for data.

PM TelkomZA and hope you get Charl. He's generally quite sharp at resolving these types of issues.

Browsing was so slow this evening, github for windows install failed multiple times between 8pm and 10pm. Installing at decent speeds now. Seems that telkom hasn't improved at all during evening peak.... FAIL.

P2P night surfer is running poorly, has been for quite some time now.

Every night this week TI fell apart after 8PM. Streaming starts buffering to the point where it becomes pointless to try and watch TV.

How do I go about using this tool? What username and password do I put in or where do I register?

Its the same as your line username and password, i.e. the one you have in your router to connect (if I remember right?)

So, this is as a result of some of the issues I mentioned on Wednesday I think. The end result is that while our new capacity planning model helping, due to some routing issues introduced by dslam migrations, the subscriber numbers per region were incorrect. Correcting the routing means we now need to re-run the capacity planning process (once most people are back from holiday), then get through the process of getting the ipc links adjusted.

In the mean time, we have just implemented changes to reduce the impact, but the results will be:
-More p2p in the Cape Town site (as promised)
-Less p2p in Gauteng, in order to reduce the impact on other traffic

Upgraded my 50GB softcap to a 10Mbps uncapped account. Performance is pretty much the same. Pretty good. Had a problem with the upgrade though because they upgraded me to 4Mbps account instead of a 10Mbps so was furious when I saw speeds of no more than 4Mbps but it is sorted out now.

Pretty much a no brainer because of the huge discount Telkom retentions offered me so I basically won't feel the increase in price. :)

What threshold should I expect with 10Mbps uncapped? I have used over 60GB but it still does not even have a bar.
