Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

I'm aware that there are different levels/stages of throttling. What I'm trying to establish is whether these level/stages apply to a 360GB cap or 900GB cap (on a 10Mbps line package) since I get conflicting information.

900GB cap, 900Gb is the max you can obtain from this package
Few months i pushed 450GB-500GB with unnoticeable FUP

By the looks of it, the TP LINK for R399 at IC looks like the best of the cheapies and it even has a USB port. Going up the ladder, the Asus DSL16NU seems like one to get as it as a fast CPU and amazing software.

FUP level 1 starts at 450GB. They half your speed between 19:00 and 21:00. Can't remember the details of level 2 and 3.

10mb uncapped line
FUP Allowance - Level 1 (450 GB)
Customers that reach 50% of the FUP will be throttled between 19:00 and 21:00.
The customer will be throttled to approximately 50% of their product speed for the 2 hours of
highest demand daily until rollover.

FUP Allowance - Level 2 (675 GB)
Customers that reach 75% of the FUP will be throttled between 18:00 and 22:00.
The customer will be throttled to approximately 25% of their product speed for the 4 hours of highest demand daily until rollover.

FUP Allowance - Level 3 (900 GB)
Customers that reach 100% of the FUP will be throttled between 7:00 and 24:00.
The customer will be throttled to an 8th of their product speed or 384 kbps (whichever is higher)
until the following rollover date, except during NightSurfer (00h00 to 07h00)

Once FUP level 3 is reached, a customer’s rollover date will be changed. A rollover
date is the monthly start date of your Telkom Internet uncapped account. The standard
roll over date is the 1st of every month. The new date will be one of the following: 8th,
15th or 21st, depending on which date is the closest to the date that the FUP level was
reached. The new roll over date will remain in place whilst the customer subscribes to
the uncapped product

Lately i have noticed that between 6PM and 10PM during week nights, my latencies have been tanking. Normally pinging myBB I get 6ms, but it will decrease to between 90 and 100ms during that time. This is not useable for gaming.

I have logged multiple tickets (log a fault on telkom website) but they just resolve the ticket without any feedback each time.
Note I can get full speed and is not under FUP (10mbps.)
My issue is just that it seems like they treat fiber like adsl, and put me on the slow/high conention network regardless of FUP threshold.

Is there any hope if getting this resolved? I have never had this issue on Vox Fatpipe ADSL, why do I have to struggle like this with Fiber?

Ok this is bullshit, my 20MB fibre is all fudged up. My download is like 2-3MB and upload 10MB!!! What a hunk of ****! **** I hate Telkom.

@TelkomZA or Anybody, i need some help or guidance, i have activated a Fibre package for my mom, 20/2, with TI, moved from the current DSL package.

The router was delivered on Thursday, last week, ONT (Raycore) was installed some time in the beginning of August.

So, it is a Zyxel router, i call on Saturday to get the login details as apparently the account has been migrated and is active.

I plug in the Zyxel router, from port 1 on the Raycore ONT, to the WAN port on the Zyxel router, and another ethernet from LAN1 on Zyxel to PC and log into router (10.0.0.2) and get in, and do quick set up, and put in all the necessary details, it somehow fails to get a internet connection, so i call Telkom, and the tech tells me to take the cable coming from the ONT out of the WAN port, and plug into Port 4 on the Zyxel router, which i do, and the Internet connection then seems to be active.

However, now when i connect 2 devices to the router via WiFi, but plugged in, it connects to the internet, so i restart the router, and nothing, no different?

I dont know what im doing wrong, or what the problem is?

Is anyone else battling with Netflix at night?
Switching to my Mweb account and Netflix loads properly, on Telkom Netflix does not load properly, it takes 3 or 4 refreshes.
It does the same on TM LTE.

So credit is due...

Sunday 10-Feb-14: Tweet @TelkomZA that I'm having issues, 0.4mb speedtest.net / tracert stuffed, on 4mb TI uncapped.
Monday 11-Feb-14: @TelkomZA requests line details, tell him I believe its congestion (afrihost / WA trial accounts better but not optimal), says he has processed the request.
Wednesday 15-Feb-14: @TelkomZA advises that there is no progress yet but provides me with fault ref + DSLam ref (this was after-hours).
Thursday 16-Feb-14: Calls me and confirms that DSLam move has been done. Must check when I get home (at work) if there is any difference.

I know it may not be fixed but big thanks to @TelkomZA. On the ball, responsive, and very friendly to say the least. Just amazing how 10210 & @TelkomZa are world's apart.

I always have a problem with telkomZA internet the last few months

Has anyone else noticed random drops for a few seconds every few hours, on both DSL and LTE?
Seems to happen at the exact same time across both.
This is in KZN.

PMB and on dsl. Same here thing here. Just happened again about 5 minutes ago.

It's more like about two minutes. I just suddenly get kicked off whatever I'm playing and see that nothing else internet related works. Line doesn't lose sync or anything, everything just stops working for a few minutes.
