Great now I can finish downloading my anime series next month without being capped

I'm on SAOL (R299 for 1024k line).

Uncapped = R400.
10GB is now effectively R100.

Leaves R300 for possibly a 384k uncapped account.

Gives me 10GB unshaped
Uncapped 384k shaped (OW Gold)

All in, not bad.

Question is, how does that DO Broadband compare to an uncapped (gold ) account?

Glad I kept my account. Extra 11GB could come in handy as Telkom internet hardly ever has any problems for me.

Now you're telling me! I'm on the 3 month free ADSL on 1 meg with 5GB cap promotion and stopped downloading at 7 GB in fear that I'm going to get billed for OOB.

This will be the norm. As I said back when the special was first rolled out, and all the whingers were moaning... this is how prices come down.

I thought this was the norm, didn't realise it was just a promotion. Think I'll stick to my MWEB uncapped

Openweb gold is shaped, Telkom's accounts are not shaped unless the network is under strain, which it never is.

I have an openweb uncapped unshaped account and it is a dream. I also have a Telkom account, because I know I can count on it working always. I'll never go with Mweb again because they are 90% marketing BS and 10% speed (mweb has bipolar - up and down all the time).

Sorry to disappoint you. After the September promo period ends they will give us a massive 1Gb extra. Instead of 9Gb we will get 10Gb. How is that for being generous and adding value to their offerings? LOL

I was hoping that they would up the old limits by 50%. That would deserve a thank you, but now it is more an insult.

I used to know the SAIX url for getting EXACT figures, can't remember it, so had a look on the SAIX site. http://userstats.adsl.saix.net might be it, but don't have a SAIX ADSL account to test it. Should work for all the reseller accounts too, just pop in ADSL username and password.
