Wtf is going on?? ADSL keeps DC'ing. Got kicked from dota. Line syncs, doesn't authenticate. Is the net in SA seriously this f'ed up at the moment?

Edit: Managed to connect. Seems fine now. But latency on SA servers is still very high.

Edit: Friends DSL also just went down for the third time now. Mine is still up.

There are upgrades to be done from 00:00 - 06:00. Maybe it started a bit earlier.

And once again my account has gone to **** at the end of the weekend: http://www.speedtest.net/result/2792025777.png

Telkom have also closed the issue yet again even after I asked them not too until after the weekend.... these people are beyond believe, now going into week 4 of this, and they've done absolutely nothing to resolve it except continually mark the faults as resolved.

I'm busy down loading a 471MB game from PSN. It is now almost finished.
About 3 and a half hours on a 4MB line. This would normally take about 40 - 50 minutes.

Edit:
I'm lying. Not finished. It is on 371MB. Almost 100MB more to go and then there is another 7.5GB game that must follow.
:(

So I've been a naughty boy. Continuously downloading the interwebs and negatively impacting the general performance of Telkom's network. Other users need efficiency, therefore I will need to be managed. In other words, my 4Mbps connection will be throttled to around 1.54Mbps. This after a total (as of this morning) combined usage of 288.73GB (50.30GB up and 238.43GB down). I'm not sure at what point I crossed the line though.

Balls... this sucks them.

Any idea of the magical figure that results in one being managed on a 4Mbps account?

The new link Cape Town is taking more traffic than it was supposed to. Engineers are going to re-balance the links within the next hour to move some traffic back to the original link.

Are you currently throttled?

That message pops up on TI Tracker for me somewhere around 250GB every month (currently +/- 260GB combined, orange bar at about 50% of usage) but I've yet to actually be throttled.

20 * * * Request timed out.

This should be fixed, at least the traffic is not being routed internationally any more.

Anyone else experiencing strange performance on their account?

I am on an 8MB line, and at times I will get 400-600 kb/ps download for about an hour, and then it will go down to 100kb/ps, and then eventually 50kb/ps.

I can go from streaming HD youtube no problem to having to buffer 144p.

That message pops up on TI Tracker for me somewhere around 250GB every month (currently +/- 260GB combined, orange bar at about 50% of usage) but I've yet to actually be throttled.

According my old friend speedtest.net (local):
1.54Mbps down 0.51Mbps up with 150ms ping.

According to myBB speedtest (local):
Test conducted on 24 June 2013 10:54:28 AM
Download Speed: 1651 kbps (206.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 502 kbps (62.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 170 ms

According to Telkom, I am being 'managed':
Capture2.PNG

So I'm assuming I'm being throttled . . .
